This private studio is walking distance to Kehena beach and 10 minutes to (Pohoiki Family Beach, which you can easily access now by car, bike or hiking. Everyone can access the old lava fields as well in Kalapana. We now have 5 black sand beaches near by at Kehena, Isaac Hale Beach (Pohoiki), Kapoho (must hike to), Mackenzie (must hike to) and Kaimu (easy hike). If you are on a budget, you can stay here while being provided w/ the amenities that you need WiFi, phone, TV & spacious kitchenette. PLEASE NOTE: There are no additional fees after arrival. Aloha! This private studio is located on the side of a larger home and it is located in a quiet and safe coastal community called Kalapana Seaview Estates, about 15-20 minutes from Pahoa. It is a nice place to stay because it is less expensive - as it is part of a larger building - so you get many of the amenities that you would get if renting a large home. It's location is very near the popular Kehena Beach ( 5 minutes away) and a short distance from the new beaches at Mackenzie, Pohoiki Beaches and new Kapoho Beaches which you can now access by hiking. The best part is that you don't have to pay the high hotel fees in Hilo and you are very close to what you came to see. We are also just 10 minutes from the lava fields of Kalapana and Volcanoes National Park is less than 1 hour away. If you are a group of 1-3 people, needing a fully furnished completely private studio w/ private bath 4 ft. food prep area - this is for you!. This unit has two double beds, Direct TV, landline w/ free long distance, WiFi internet. The (small 4 ft food prep area) has MW, hotplate, pans, coffee maker, utensils, and a refrigerator. ( not equipped for serious cooking as it is small) . There is a rock BBQ outside as well. We do rent for a month at a time at a discounted rate. You can see the ocean from the studio 10 blocks away. Many people come to the Puna district ( Kehena Beach, Pahoa and Kalapana) for the sunshine, peace and quiet, for nature walks, yoga and more. Puna is also known to get less rain than other ares on the island. . Puna is also a remote but a great place to see the new black sand beaches, periodic lava flows and to see Kilauea Volcano , the Hawaiian jungles, tropical rain forests, beautiful coastal views, beaches of Kehena, Pohoiki, Mackenzie, Kapoho, local sea caves and for experienced snorkelers. Its a great place for hikers as well. This is the place for water lovers and we have what you need : snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, noodles for your swimming pleasure. You can easily navigate all of these places from our studio, it has come to be a very popular spot 'right in the center of all of these attractions'.\ Now, for those of you who are seeking night time entertainment, check out 'Uncles Tiki Bar' if you want to sip a beer and listen to live Hawaiian/Jawaiian Rock/Country music..just down the road from us. Kalapana-Seaview Estates is a remote , nice, quiet, peaceful and safe neighborhood by Kehena Beach - which is walking distance from the studio. It is located 32 miles from the airport land the nearest town is Pahoa, just 17 miles up the hill The Hele-On bus stops right in front of our subdivision, which is a short walk from the studio There is the Hele-on bus that passes by our cottages 3x/day at $1.00/6 days per week. No Sunday bus. You can take it to Hilo for $1 & from Hilo to Kona for $1 as well. The total round trip would cost $4.00.
