Nestled into the hapu’u fern forest of Ohi’a Estates in Volcano, Hawaii, this quiet, cozy retreat is the perfect place to relax after a long-day of sight-seeing. Slip into the hot tub and enjoy the sounds of nature that the Big Island is famous for. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is minutes away and has a whole new look after the great eruption of 2018 that closed the Park for several months! And you’re only 30 minutes from historic, downtown Hilo – and great snorkeling at Carlsmith Beach Park. The home is perfect for 1 or 2 people. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up those scrumptious island meals. The comfy living room boasts a large sofa, recliner and cozy gas fireplace. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and the bathroom has a large walk-in shower with all kinds of jets! The large covered lanai is a great space to grill and dine outdoors, or relax under the gas propane heater or in the hot tub. Please note: The owner’s private bedroom and office are locked and not for guest’s use. What to pack Volcano, Hawaii sits at about 3500’ elevation. The Island of Hawaii, aka the Big Island, boasts over 4,000 square miles and 10 different climate zones, within which are many micro climate zones! You may think that packing your favorite swimsuit and slippers (flip flops) is enough, but not true if you plan on doing any hiking or sightseeing around the island. The Volcano area can get quite chilly with temperatures dropping down to the low 40s at night, sometimes lower, so do bring your favorite warm pajamas and at least a light jacket.
