Description

Black Cove cottage once served as the gardeners home of the grand Boardman Estate in the late 1800s, full of old world charm moldings and bead board. It is in the most exclusive areas of Manchester by the Sea. Settled back through the wild flowers across Black Cove with ocean views from your private deck. The cottage has a casual vibe and is relaxing, and private. It is still charmed today by the passing of the train, the sunsets, fresh ocean air, peace and tranquility. A haven for relaxation. The space Location, location, location! This charming little gem sits in a beautiful lawn behind wildflowers overlooking Black Cove. With amazing ocean views. Kayak to Tucks Point Park, or into town for an ice-cream. Enjoy spectacular views and ocean breezes. Your morning walks around the estates over-looking the ocean with magnificent landscapes will surely fill your souls. Walk to Tucks Point for your morning coffee, a swim or a picnic, you’ll be all set for the rest of the day. The local train Boston-Rockport Line does pass by adjacent to the property, behind the hydrangea trees, and you will hear it. hopefully it will add to the charm and is not that bothersome! Guest access Guests have the whole house to themselves. There are two free parking spaces behind the cottage. Kayaks are provided for guest enjoyment. The Garden cottage is also on site and available through Airbnb. The gravel driveway accesses both cottages. The steps getting to the second floor are steep so if that is hard for someone, the sofa bed and full bath on the first floor works out very well. Other things to note The Gardener’s Cottage was built in the 1800s as part of The Boardman Estate and it was adjacent to the greenhouses. The greenhouse footprint wall foundations can still be appreciated today. The greenhouses grew plants for the estate gardens, and for decorating the interiors of the mansion of the Boardman Estate. A small cottage was built in the 50s at the far end of the greenhouse foundations, which is also private today.
