Description
Private and Quiet home on the East side Big Island Welcome to Hale Ohi'a Lehua! This new, beautifully designed and decorated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is the perfect location for sightseeing the east side of The Big Island. Near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Centrally located in the Mauna Loa Estates subdivision, and only about 30 minutes to Hilo, you are convenient to all of the sights and sounds that the east side of the Big Island has to offer. From here, swimming and snorkeling in Punalu’u Black Sands Beach or in Hilo is a 30-minute drive in either direction. And you're minutes from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which has a whole new look after the great eruption of 2018 that closed the Park for several months! Hale Ohi'a Lehua sits perfectly on its private, quiet landscaped 1/2 acre with citrus and other fruit trees in the backyard, and the native Hapu’u ferns surround the edge of the property. Enjoy the crisp mountain air at 3500’ elevation. The large lanai is the perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, or a great book in the afternoon. Hale ‘Ohi’a Lehua sleeps 6-7 comfortably with a regular king bed in the master, a queen in the 2nd bedroom, and a twin & double bunk-bed in the 3rd bedroom. The master bedroom has its own large private bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. WHAT TO PACK: The Island of Hawaii, aka the Big Island, boasts over 4,000 square miles and 10 different climate zones, within which are many micro climate zones! You may think that packing your favorite swimsuit and slippers (flip flops) is enough, but not true if you plan on doing any hiking or sightseeing around the island. The Volcano-town area can get quite chilly with temperatures dropping down to the low 40's at night, sometimes lower, so do bring your favorite warm pajamas and at least a light jacket. It actually snows often on Mauna Kea, but they close those roads whenever there are blizzard conditions present. - 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-7) - Beds: 1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Twin/Double Bunkbed - Television/Streaming only - New High-Speed Internet (Spectrum) Eff 1/27/2020 - Full Kitchen - All Cooking Utensils - Microwave - DVD/CD Player - Lots of DVDs - Washer & Dryer - Many Restaurants Close - No Smoking - No Pets - Hilo 30 min. **Excessive use of the fire place and propane tanks will incur additional fees.
