Description

Welcome to the Lucky Luciano Suite at the historic Tavern on the Bay Resort! We are located in Somers Point, NJ - the oldest settlement in Atlantic County. We have a bar and restaurant downstairs and plenty of parking for your car or boat. Enjoy breathtaking views of the bay from our 3rd floor deck and soak up the sun at the Somers Point Beach located next door. Check-in starts at 4pm and goes until 10pm. Check-out is at 11am. The space Welcome to the Nucky Johnson Suite! Located on the 3rd floor, this charming room features a luxurious queen-size bed. Other amenities include a mini-fridge, a coffee maker with K-cups provided and a flat-screen TV with DIRECTV. Tavern On The Bay Resort is a New Jersey historical landmark. The Victorian-style mansion was originally built in 1884. It was a bordello during the late 1800s and then became a hangout for the infamous Nucky Johnson (for whom the show "Boardwalk Empire" on HBO was based on) during the prohibition days. "This place was a brothel in the 1800s where mobsters would hide massive quantities of alcohol during the days of prohibition. A gangster was whacked in the basement after messing up on an order and a young wife hung herself in room 7 after catching her cheating husband with a whore. Also, there's a ghost in the attic and he locks the door behind me from time to time." - Sam Trocki, proprietor of Tavern On The Bay Such a soulful joint with residual traces of secrecy lingering in the air. You can feel it. These old walls have a story to tell.... sitting on the rooftop deck in this charming, but grande, inviting, yet mysterious abode asking the mermaid to direct me with her compass. Maybe I'll stay a night or two and get myself a tasty rib-eye and a whiskey on the rocks, while listening to the old sailors docked in the marina exchanging stories of life in the open sea." - Anonymous Check-in starts at 4pm and goes until 10pm. Late check-in after 10pm is a $50 fee. Check-out is at 11am. We unfortunately cannot accommodate late check-outs due to housekeepers needing time to thoroughly clean for the next guests arriving. There is a pet fee of $75 per pet, per night for extra cleaning due at check-in. Guest access There is a bar and restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, open daily for dinner and late-nite drinks. Our third floor deck is open to all hotel guests and you're welcome to bring food and drinks upstairs to enjoy the view! We also have the lovely Somers Point Beach located next door. Other things to note There is a ghost in the attic but he is friendly! Legend says you can sometimes hear the faint sound of footsteps at night. The rooms are 100% ghost-free.
