From the cottage one can walk, ride mountain bike, or 4 wheel drive down 2 miles to Ka'alu'alu bay a popular surfing and fishing place for the locals, 4 1/4 miles from Ka'alu'alu Bay to the most southern beach of the USA, Green Sand Beach, (2 hr magical walk from Pele’s Eye to Green Sand Beach) from there a mile or so to the jump off cliffs, an absolute must for the adventures types. One could also simply drive down South Point Rd to the cliffs or the parking place to hike into Green Sand Beach. Few things to consider when booking Pele's Eye, 1 1/4 mile gravel rd, any car is fine, Jeep or small suv are better.
