Aloha! We are Keone and Yonnell Farias. We were both born and raised here on this wonderful island. We welcome you to our beautiful new home and would be happy to share with you our favorite places. Located in a quiet neighborhood of Waiakea Uka, we are a short 10 minute ride from the airport, 35 minutes to the Volcano, and just a few minutes from local grocery stores and eateries! This is a newly renovated, spacious 3 bedroom home surrounded by a lush green garden and spacious back yard. Like the house we grew up in..3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, open living room, nostalgic family room, kitchen opens to dining room, huge yard with fruit trees, and beautiful local garden. A flag lot off one of Hilo's main streets leaves easy access yet privacy for your get away. There is a nice story behind Maunaleo, Keone would run pass this home from teen years to adulthood, he would always admire the fruit trees in the yard. One day a year ago, he saw it was for sale. We quickly called the realtor and put in a bid for it. We were blessed to get it. For a year we called it our "new, old house", our "work in progress". We talked to many of the neighbors who gave us the history on the place, we decided to keep some its nostalgic beauty. We put a lot of love, a lot of hard, long work days, and it finally got to where it is. Now we'd like to share it with you! To help keep the cleaning fee down & to be fair to guest who do not use the grill, there is an extra $25 charge to be left at check-out ONLY if the grill is used. Maunaleo is a legally permitted Vacation Rental with the state and County of Hawai'i.
