This quiet option is less than two miles from the center of downtown Amherst, a thriving college town with museums, libraries, small stores, restaurants for every budget, hiking trails galore. We offer a relaxing, TV-free space in a friendly, safe, residential neighborhood. Five minute walk to 2 bus stops. If you are looking for some privacy with access to western Mass., you've found it! The space The space is inconspicuously attached to the main house behind the garage. You’ll have your own place, your own entrance and you can check yourself in. We’ll send the code for the door on the day of your arrival. You can park on the premises (being able to back out of a driveway is advantageous), bring your bikes or take the free Umass transit bus lines. You have easy access to hiking trails, the bike path, the Eric Carle picture book museum, the Yiddish book center, the Hitchcock Center for the environment, Atkins Farms, the five colleges, art galleries, the Emily Dickinson homestead, Puffers pond with a small but free public beach and more. We want to let you know that we’re doing our part to help you stay safe by not only thoroughly cleaning the apartment but also by disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet/refrigerator/microwave/toaster...handles, faucets, ....) before you check in. We wash the laundry on the hottest setting with fragrant free and dye free detergent. You’re also welcome to sit outside on your little porch or in the yard at the table close to your entrance. We‘d appreciate a few words about the reason of your visit and your ETA when you know it. Other things to note In the summer there’s an AC window unit in the bedroom. Let us know if you need to arrive before 5pm, sometimes that is an option.
