Relaxing summer cottage respite in Pocasset

Just a few minutes drive from the Bourne Bridge and located on a small dirt road, this quaint cottage overlooks protected salt marshlands and is only a few second's walk to the beach at Hen's Cove. This is a quiet area where relaxing walks around Patuisset Island are common. The sights and shops of Falmouth and the Woods Hole ferry to Martha's Vineyard are nearby. Spend the entire day at the beach, then retreat to the rooftop deck for an unobstructed view of the spectacular sunset. Other things to note On December 28, 2018, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts passed a "Lodging Tax Bill" that is effective for short-term rentals after July 1, 2019. This bill assesses a State tax and allows for a local tax as well. The Town of Bourne has added its local assessment as well as a "wastewater" tax. All told, the Lodging Tax for Bourne properties will total 12.5%. There are other expenses to property owners that are mandated. I regret that the cost of this tax will be passed along to guests as a percentage of the rental fee.
