This historical Arts & Crafts home offers a special touch to your gathering in this quaint Dutch town. Centrally located just one block off the main street and across from the Courthouse. It is like home in ones most wonderful dreams." The space This 1912 home combines the modern conveniences of the 21st Century with the solid elegance of the 20th. As an historical home in Orange City, IA, it is included in the Tulip Festival Trolley Tour each year. The beautiful stones were hauled from the California Kern River by train. The Steinway Grand B Parlor Piano, Waltham Grandfather Clock and African Mahogany Dining Set are all original purchases made by its 1912 designer/owners, Wells and Johanna Short. We welcome you into this historical home for an unforgettable stay. Guest access You will have access to the entire home; main floor; 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living and dining room and kitchen, 2nd floor; 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and basement, which has a two queen beds, 1 full size daybed and trundle bed, Ping-Pong table, children's play area and laundry. We look forward to sharing our special home with your family! Other things to note *Because of the antiques on the main floor and white carpets, please keep in mind that if you are bringing children, please watch that roughhousing and play is done in the basement, and only quiet play on main floor. Please be diligent in watching your children on the main floor. *For your young children, we have a Pack N Play and an antique bed for toddlers (about 4' long with sides, that sits on the floor) *One basement bed has a half curtain between the queen bed and the 2nd full size day bed with trundle bed, while the 2nd bedroom has its own door. *Breakfast and Meals – Feel free help yourselves to any food in kitchen, we juist don't cook it for you! :-) and toiletries in bathroom. *We request that you take off your shoes in the mudroom in order to protect the white carpeting throughout the home. Again, if you are bringing children, please help them remember this rule also.
