Quiet space with morning light thru windows that offer closeup views of plants. Good air flow. No air conditioning or TV. For one woman, near Woods Hole village, bike path, bus, ferry and beaches. (Some exceptions for a man with references and explanations for visit.) In-room sink, independent heat zone. Private toilet and sink in adjacent utility room with shower up one flight. A good project/office space. One parking space and checkout applies to cars as well as people. Review photos to see natural wood and light. There's an electric kettle in the room. Hallway on ground floor has a shared space with mini-fridge, micro-wave and Keurig coffee maker. No kitchen, note: mini-fridge and microwave are convenience amenities but adding appliances to cook meals is a violation of host's agreements with Health Department and insurance company. I meet guests for check-in and guests use keypad entry after that. One parking place, WiFi. Again, check-in and check-out times apply to cars and people. No pets or overnight guests. Host might need to walk through room for occasional access to washer-dryer in utility room and will plan that around guest's schedule. Guests are welcome to the spaces described and shown in photos as well as a small outdoor space. Host's private spaces are kept separate and are clearly marked. Location is picturesque and convenient: a half-mile to ferry and bus terminals, village with coffee shops and restaurants, at one end of an eleven-mile bike path, near Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) aka University of Chicago and NOAA. Village restaurants and things to do vary seasonally. People with cars who will be on the Vineyard outside of their reserved time can use Falmouth parking lots and free shuttle service offered by Steamship Authority. Uber is available. I meet guests for their first check-in. I come and go from my seaside studio less than a mile away. I'm usually reachable by phone, text, and email. There's light foot, bike and car traffic in a quiet neighborhood off the main road. There are sidewalks on the main road into the village. It's seven-tenths of a mile from the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and buses. Walk or bike to Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Some lectures, films and events are open to the public year round -- some in person and many on Zoom. You'll see kids playing and neighbors outside coming and going. A few dogs in the area are usually on-leash. Seasonally, there are signs of wild turkeys, chipmunks, rabbits and a few coyotes. I won't boast of ocean views but you can see the light on and above the water as it influences sunrises and in winter when trees are bare, you can see water sparkle. There are sidewalks on the main road between the village and this listing. You'll see people walking and biking year-round. Guests have one parking space (per room) at the house and checkout applies to cars as well as people (no exceptions). Buses, ferries and bikes are all located in Woods Hole village. For people visiting Martha's Vineyard (who won't take cars on the ferry), there's a shuttle bus between the ferry to larger parking lots in Falmouth. There's an eleven-mile bike path with one end in Woods Hole. Around the corner is a shuttle bus to WHOI's Clark Campus and bike rentals are available in Falmouth. Uber, Lyft and taxis service the area. Taxes are for Massachusetts state, Cape Cod wastewater, and Falmouth town tax. Although I've listed two-week maximum stay, you can send me a message about longer stays. A great staycation and an accommodating retreat spot. Good to know that winter 2023 many businesses are closed. If convenient, I might pick up guests who arrive by bus.
