The space An elegant, sun-splashed, 2+ bedroom apartment just a 20-minute walk (or 7-minute bike ride to Harvard. (A BlueBike station is just 2 blocks away.) It's the spacious 1st floor of a 3-level house on a quiet leafy street conveniently located between Harvard Square & Fresh Pond, in the heart of Huron Village, with its galleries, boutiques, antiques, used bookstore, and teeny-tiny fire station, which kids love. Food options include Formaggio (a take-out gourmet shop with wine tastings and weekend outdoor barbecue), La Saison and Hi-Rise bakeries, Iggy's cafe, and several local restaurants. At Fresh Pond Mall, a 10-minute walk away, are Starbucks, Trader Joe, Whole Foods, & TJMaxx, and another array of food options: sushi, Whole Foods cafe, Chipotle, and Ma Magoo's (Greek specialties). Fresh Pond is 2.5 miles around with a jogging/bike path that continues to the Minuteman Bike Path, 10 miles long, through Arlington & Lexington to Bedford. We are between Harvard and Tufts and the other universities are easily accessed by public transportation. The apartment comfortably sleeps 5. Bedroom 1: queen bed; Bedroom 2: twin bed; Study: pull-out double sofa- bed. You'll find designer furnishings and attention to detail throughout (European cable lighting, hardwood floors, TV, DVD). Enjoy breakfast at the kitchen bay window overlooking the garden. Soak in the bathtub, entertain in the full dining room & living room that, through windowed French doors, gives onto a built-in study. The garden welcomes you for beverages or a barbecue on the two shady bluestone patios. Grab a nap or lounge with a good book in the double hammock or work on your laptop with wireless access. After dark, come down for drinks under our twinkling outdoor lighting. Jog around Fresh Pond or along the Charles River. Browse in Huron Ave. boutiques & Harvard Square shops; stroll to Formaggio, or Hi-Rise or La Saison bakeries for latte & croissants. Walk to Whole Foods, Starbucks, Trader Joe at Fresh Pond Mall. Three T (subway) stations are within walking distance: Harvard Square, Porter Square, which also has the commuter rail, and Alewife, where the GO bus leaves for NYC. Two bus lines stop within 3 blocks; Easy access to Rts. 2 & 128. Near jogging paths, bike trails, parks and playgrounds. We have bikes to lend: one child's and one adult. On-street parking is available right in front of the house (visitor pass included). Garage parking may be available for an extra charge. If you stay for a month or longer, a house-cleaner will come every two weeks. Laundry facilities are available in the basement. Just please empty the dryer lint trap before and after, for safety. Guest access In the garden, you will find 2 bluestone patios, a double hammock, a firebowl, a croquet lawn and a bocce area in the driveway (with Wi-Fi throughout). Laundry is in the basement.
