The Shire is a charming mid-century Cape house surrounded by trees and mature plantings. It has a unique character, with interesting nooks & crannies. Outside, there is always something in bloom. Located on a quiet street, it’s a 5-min drive to the beach or a 20-min bike ride. Wake up in the morning to the sound of birds, relax with a cuppa on your private back deck, check in with work with high speed internet. For remote work stays, a home office setup can be provided. The space, affectionately named The Cupboard Atop the Stairs (any Harry Potter fans?), is it’s own private space with an entrance off the breezeway. The space contains a B&B Italia queen bed with 100% cotton luxury bedding, dresser, TV, coffee station, microwave, compact fridge, USB laptop table, and updated bath. It is fully carpeted and has good natural light. The guestroom is perfect for singles, couples or a family with a young child. Guests can access the entire outside space which includes a deck for your exclusive use, a large fenced yard, outdoor shower, brick patio with seating and fire pit. Please note the outside is a shared area, so you might spot me gardening. Guests may also access the washer/dryer in the garage, and store bikes, kayaks or other recreation equipment on the property. We also have bikes and a 1-person sit upon kayak available for use. I respect your privacy and will interact with you as much or little as you desire. I live in the main house and work FT remote so am available if needed. I am happy to share recommendations on places to eat or visit. Our house is a corner lot surrounded by trees, located on a quiet dead-end street. It’s a largely seasonal area, and the kind of neighborhood where you will see people of all ages out walking, children riding their bikes, and lots of well mannered dogs. We are near the ocean and there’s always a cool breeze in the yard. The property is located a few minutes south of Rte 28, so quick access to a major road. In Falmouth there is little to no public transportation. You will need a car. Beach access: Two beaches are nearby - Falmouth Heights town beach and Menauhant Beach. Count on the travel time to be a 45 min walk, 15 min bike ride or 7 min car ride to the nearest beach. Your favorite flavor of Girl Scout cookies I am not a fan of perfumy scents so linens and cleaning products are as close to fragrance free as possible. This is a family home, so you may see some personal items about, or a curious cat through a window. Everything in your room and in the outside space is available for your use. And if you need anything additional, just ask! Please note that the guestroom has a no pets policy for now.
