The Roost

We love our country retreat, and want to share it with you! Perfect for both small or large groups with plenty of space, indoors & out! Enjoy the beautiful countryside along with farm fresh eggs from our own hens. We are located close to the historic Amana Colonies, historic Kalona Village, Coralvile/Iowa City. We're a 25 minute drive to Kinnick Stadium & the University of Iowa/UIHC. The space Beautifully restored and renovated early 1900's home, which once served as a coach house. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire home, as well as the acre of property surrounding it, along with LOTS of cool amenities! There are 4 guest bedrooms on the upper level of the home, along with the main bathroom. The main bathroom is very large, including a separate shower room with soaking tub. The fifth guest bedroom, with attached full bath, is located on the main level. All of the other living spaces are on the main level, which include a very large kitchen with dining area, sitting area with wood burning stove, comfortable living room with large tv/dvd/stereo combination, parlor room with organs, and a 1/2 bath/powder room off of the pool deck. There is an enclosed porch with seating, a porch swing, and fitness equipment. The porch is not temperature controlled. The deck, pool, hot tub and fitness equipment are available to REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY, meeting the requirements listed in the house rules. POOL USE IS NOT GUARANTEED BEFORE MEMORIAL DAY OR AFTER LABOR DAY. The attached garage, basement, attic, and outbuilding (host living quarters) are off limits to guests. Other things to note My husband Brian and I live in a separate building on property. We both work full-time, so are typically only around during the evening hours. We do have a senior aged orange cat named OC that is mostly inside our host living quarters, however, you may see him out and about occasionally. There are backyard chickens that roam the property at their free will, including roosters that are very protective of their ladies! We have two Nigerian dwarf goats named Theo and Leo. They are very friendly and love to act goofy to entertain our guests! We make sure to give our guests their complete privacy, but are available for assistance if needed.
