Guest access The Stepping Stone Inn warmly invites you to enjoy the spacious parlor and the cozy dining room with free 24-hour gourmet coffee, tea and hot chocolate service, which is the perfect ending to your lovely evening out in charming, historic Salem. Other things to note NO SMOKING of ANYTHING, anywhere inside the building. No candles, incense, smudging or fire of ANY kind. Our house is wood and was built in 1846. We do not have a sprinkler system. No weapons of any kind are allowed inside the inn, our home. For the comfort of our other guests, no children under the age of 5 years. No drink coolers with ice. No cases of beer. Alcohol consumption should be kept to a bottle of wine, a fifth of bourbon or a six pack of beer. We have a guest fridge in the dinning room for your convenience. If you need to cancel, we offer a refund of your deposit, minus a $25 cancellation fee (per room) up to one week before your first night’s reservation (except for reservations for the month of October*). If you cancel within the final week, you will lose your deposit. Early departures are considered cancellations and the cancellation policy applies. *If you cancel your October reservation AFTER August 31, you will lose the ENTIRE amount of your stay, not just the deposit. We advise you buy travel insurance. We offer free parking. We have 2 spots next to the inn and 4 spots in the City Of Salem Parking Garage, one block from the inn. We will provide one spot per room only. If you arrive in 2 cars, you are responsible for any fees associated with parking the 2nd vehicle. During Halloween, spaces may become limited in the parking garage. We do not guarantee you a spot, but in most cases, it’s not an issue. If you arrive early or wish to stay in Salem after check-out, parking in the Museum Place Garage is $0.75/hour and in the Harbor Garage, it's only $0.25/hour. This being an old house, there is no elevator. None of our guestrooms are located on the ground floor. Insurance: We highly recommend that you secure some travel insurance just in case of an emergency or if your reservation needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather such as hurricanes and blizzards. We are not responsible for cancellations due to bad weather.
