Description

READ other details section!!! Please read the entire description and view photos prior to booking a room in the Hostel, it is not a Hotel. This Rustic (1912) Private Room consists of 1 Queen Size Bed. The Room is limited to 2 people total and does not have space for additional cots. All linens and towels will be provided. Due to the thin walls of our historic 1912 hostel, some guests may prefer to bring ear plugs. The Hostel isn't suitable for children under 12. The space Step back in time and enjoy the remarkable history of this Log building built in 1912 to house the Men who were building the Great Lodges of Glacier National Park. Our friendly, rustic hostel has been a favorite of visitors to Glacier National Park for over 35 years. The building is over 110 years old, the walls are thin and the floors aren't completely straight. It's a great place to crash while exploring Glacier Park for less than 1/2 price of everything else in this expensive area. Being a guest in a Hostel, you are just as likely to meet someone from Australia, Spain or Japan as from New York or Colorado. The Historic log building also features a bakery, cafe, and grocery store with fresh made sandwiches, pizza, espresso and Montana's famous Wilcoxin's ice cream. There is also a full laundromat in the adjacent building for all your laundry needs. The walls are fairly thin so light sleepers may need to use ear plugs. All rooms in the Hostel share separate Men's and Women's bath and shower facilities. There are also 2 single bathrooms and a single Shower with locking doors in the Hostel. Due to it's age, the Hostel isn't suitable for children under 12. We are just down the road from the 2 Medicine entrance to Glacier National Park and some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. Wikipedia definition: Hostels provide lower-priced, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Dorms can be mixed or single-sex, and private rooms may also be available. Please read the description and look at the photos, Hostels are not for some people, if it doesn't suit you, don't stay here and be unhappy to save money. Brownies rooms are private for only your group, with shared bathrooms and common areas. NONE of our rooms have a connected private bathroom. Guest access There are several Men's and women's designated bathrooms and showers as well as 2 single bathrooms and a single shower stall with locking doors. There is also a limited guest kitchen with some cooking pots and pans, plates and silverware as well as 2 refrigerators, a large sitting area and a large covered porch with excellent views of our Glacier Park sunsets. Other things to note If booking after September 15th, please check weather and availability of activities as many concessions and areas of the park are closed already and the weather is changing. We have no control over these things and would prefer not to be rated poorly due to factors outside our control. Reception is at the front counter of the Store. If you should arrive after our normal business hours, we will make arrangements for self-check in. Cell reception is spotty so be sure to check for our welcome email and have directions the day prior to arrival. This is a Rustic 110-year-old Hostel that has shared spaces, it is not a hotel. We are less than half the cost of similar accommodations in the area. Most of our unsatisfactory reviews basically mirror the listing description and are out of our control due to the age of the building. Please read the descriptions and if it doesn't seem like it fits your needs, please book somewhere that does. We want everyone to have an amazing experience in Glacier and provide clean, comfortable, no frills lodging at the end of an adventure filled day in the mountains.
