Visit a cozy lakeside cabin at the Seneca Treehouse Project. It is a 550-square-foot handcrafted studio apartment with a king bed, futon, and blowup twin. Check out our garden & food forest across the street from the cabin. Take a picnic and enjoy the lake. Our goal is to provide a relaxing, inspiring, and educational experience. We encourage questions, there are some unique features on this property. This charming abode is 550 square feet, with all the amenities to make you feel at home: Wi-Fi, king-size Temper Pedic bed, walk-in tile shower, full kitchen, washing machine, unlimited hot water, and a TV. Some of our energy-saving techniques include a clothesline, composting toilet (don't worry it's not stinky), and an on-demand hot water heater. If you have more than 3 people, an air mattress or cot can be set up in the common space. The cabin is private and completely yours during your stay. Just bring yourself and your personals as we provide all linens and natural bath products. On Lake Hartwell, close to Clemson SC, and the southern Appalachian mountains. Our cabin is located at The Seneca Treehouse Project, a permaculture learning center and sustainable development company helping each other live in harmony with our planet. We may be housing interns and young professionals in addition to our Airbnb guests. By staying with us, you’re helping build our learning center that will, upon completion, be a place for hands-on workshops, plus school and community tours. If you would like to book additional rooms please check out our other listings. We look forward to serving you and sincerely appreciate your support! Walk through the food forest, visit the chickens, cross our bridge, and explore all the plant life. Signs are usually posted to indicate unavailable spaces. All of the guests at the Seneca Treehouse Project share the boats, the beautiful, fun-to-swim beach, and the roadway with neighbors in the area and there may be others from the lake or nearby campground, please be neighborly. Be sure to turn the boats upside down and pull them back on the shore when you are finished. Please also pack out everything you brought out, especially trash. Available for you to use: kayaks, a canoe, and a stand-up paddle-board. Currently, there's no rental fee so please help us to take care of them, and let us know if something is broken. The Seneca Treehouse Project is home to our sustainable development company, Treehouse Internatural, Inc. We have elements of a working farm, intentional community, and construction company all on-site. Outside, you may interact with guests who are staying in the other structures at the Seneca Treehouse Project. Feel free to ask questions and learn as much as you can while you are here. We are here to help. We sometimes enjoy community meals, work days, and occasional bonfires. Our dog/groundskeeper, Malcolm, loves to play fetch and take walks with you to the lake, but please don’t entertain his desire to play with rocks as they’re bad for his teeth :) We let you choose: join in on the fun or have a private getaway! The host lives onsite in the Geodome, when in town. Reach out for any onsite needs or area information and recommendations. We are blessed with access to Lake Hartwell and the surrounding woodland areas while also being close to the modern conveniences of town. We share a cove with a campground that you will pass upon arrival and summer holiday weekends may warrant free karaoke 🎶 We’re 8 miles to Seneca, 10 miles to Clemson, and 20 to Anderson. There are many hikes and waterfalls within an hour drive or so. On site you may find us doing animal husbandry, fruit nut and vegetable production, alternative building, and working on completing the Seneca Treehouse Project.
