The Hideaway
A short distance off Highway 93 between Whitefish and Eureka, The Hideaway will enhance your visit to Northwest Montana. Nestled near Grave Creek, a sweeping vista invites you to continue on to Therriault Lakes and the serenity of Ten Lakes Scenic Area. No traffic, no city lights. Several restaurants a short distance away. Or, stay in and enjoy your own home cooking. High speed internet to keep in touch. Close to hiking trails, beautiful mountain lakes and rushing streams that provide opportunity to amateur and skilled anglers alike. Eureka, eight miles north, is a small friendly town with everything (almost) that one might require. Plenty of good restaurants and fun shopping. Whitefish, a popular resort town of the west, is 45 minutes south on a scenic, uncomplicated highway. Glacier National Park is another 45 minutes away. Our acreage, while small, opens to a mountain vista that is picturesque and serene. The Hideaway is only steps away from Theodora's garden, where good things grow. Welcome to visit the Apothecary where we lovingly make our healing herbal products for sale. Walk over to the barn and meet our family of miniature goats and silly chickens that love laying your breakfast. Guests are free to wander about the barn, garden and greenhouse. There are many wonderful walking trails just outside the door. Privately located behind The Hideaway is a barbecue grill, picnic table, fire pit with wood provided, and lawn chairs to sit in while enjoying the expansive views. Between the Hideaway and garden is a generous lawn providing room for games and activities. If there is anything you might need or want that I am able to provide I will be pleased to do so. You will be left to your privacy unless you wish to interact. Just off Grave Creek Road is a wonderful place to call home. We are a close community. Even winter is a beautiful time of the year. Cross country skiing and snowmobiling are nearby. We are far from public transportation. We live at nearly 3,000 feet. The nights can be chilly, days sometimes hot. If you wish to hike bring appropriate shoes and bear spray. We have hiking maps and can direct you to a variety of trails for every skill level. There are those who enjoy taking a dip in a pristine lake. Pristine lakes are chilly, so bring a swim suit if you are so inclined. Burrrrrrr!
