Comfortable bed, quiet, sunny room overlooking my garden and the conservation land behind the house. You might look down and see a beaver, rabbits, a possum or deer! The house is a convenient place to stay for those wanting to be close to Babson, Olin or Wellesley Colleges--Mount Ida is not far--and the train to Boston is three blocks from the house. Note: from Sept 30-May 30, I can only accept guests who are not bringing a car. Two night minimum. Note: 3 night maximum. This listing is for a bedroom with a queen bed, overlooking conservation land with big windows and lots of sun, which has a bathroom that can be private (if adjacent twin bedroom is not rented) or shared (if it is). The twin bedroom is currently not listed for rent, but if you need the extra bedroom, please let me know and we can work it out. Following is a description of all the available rooms in my big house, but each bedroom is listed separately. Have available 2 sunny bedrooms next to each other, one w/ queen, other w/ twin, sharing full bath. Also have downstairs suite with bedroom, private bath, kitchenette and big room opening to garden. Rent one-three bedrooms. Walk to train going to Boston. Price depends on number of rooms rented. Lots of privacy, whether in the upstairs rooms (the twin room or the queen) or in the downstairs suite of rooms, even though there is no private entrance. You will be at the other end of the house from the host. Some rooms overlook the conservation forest behind the house. It's easy to walk to the commuter rail or up to Highland Ave, where you find Starbucks, Trader Joe, restaurants, bank and the bus to the Green Line. There is also parking available on my driveway. Guests in the downstairs suite have several rooms to themselves--bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and family room. Guests in the bedrooms upstairs have a bathroom to themselves and are welcome to sit in my library/den, where I have my TV. If the downstairs suite is not rented, they are free to use the big downstairs family room with TV/DVD player. My own life is busy, but I am happy to share some tea and conversation and to tell guests anything they need to know about the Boston area. I've lived here for thirty years and am very enthusiastic about metro Boston. I live in a totally safe neighborhood, and I love the fact that the commuter rail is only three blocks away, as well as the bus to the Green Line and amenities like Trader Joe, Starbucks, restaurants, bank, CVS, and so on. I am thrilled to be backing onto conservation land--forested--full of geese and bluebirds. Needham is ideally located for exploring the city of Boston, rural towns and many historic towns, such as Concord and Lincoln, to the west of Needham. The commuter rail into Boston is 3 blocks away, as is the bus to the Green Line, and if guests have a car, they can park on my driveway. Getting onto Route 128 takes less than 5 minutes, and the drive into Boston takes less than half an hour. There is a friendly cat who probably will visit guests. If you are a guest in the upstairs queen bedroom/bathroom, you are welcome to help yourself to coffee or tea in my kitchen in the morning, and we can make an arrangement for you to store food in my refrigerator and use my microwave. You may eat in my dining room or on the back deck. However, use of my cooktop is not allowed. Guests who are eating out or with friends/relatives won’t mind. For those who would like to cook, please consider renting my downstairs suite, which has a mini kitchen. The downstairs suite does not share any spaces with me, except for our shared entrance to the house, so you will have more privacy, too. I live in the house, so I’ll be available if you have questions. We have some really great restaurants here! Some of our favorites include Masala Art for Indian cuisine and Sweet Basil--people travel from other towns to eat at Sweet Basil (which has a companion restaurant in Wellesley). The house is a five minute walk to Volante Farms, which is a huge farm, nursery and store now featuring products made in Massachusetts--special honeys, spices, cheeses, fresh produce; Volante has a deli and ice cream stand and outdoor seating for good weather. There’s room for you to park a car on my driveway. The train into Boston is a 15-20 minute walk from the house. Near the train station there’s a supermarket, CVS, restaurants, bank, etc. The center of Needham with its many restaurants is about a 30 minute walk. My dearest cat Sammy had to be euthanized. Much sorrow. Thus, at the moment there’s no cat in the house, but eventually I will get another.
