It is a colonial revival-style mansion on the National Registry of Historic Places. Situated peacefully on a hill above the city of Springfield, MA, Valentine Mansion has gracefully maintained its original style and charm for almost 150 years. The mansion features a 40 ft. ballroom, 7 Airbnb bedrooms, 5 parlors, multiple patios, and a seasonal veranda with a full view of downtown, and several window seats. The mansion also features a foyer with Italian mosaic flooring, ten uniquely handcrafted fireplaced with baroque mantes, a piano alcove, stenciled and coffered ceilings, a dumbwaiter and antique lighting fixtures. Originally built in 1877 by a prominent banker, the house was initially considered small. In 1886, the mansion was expanded to more than 11,000 square feet. Italian artisans constructed the grand ballroom which features and ornate floor-to-ceiling fireplace and elaborate hand carved wooden details. Please park in the lot first, but you can park in the circle drive if there is no room in the lot. If you need to park in the drive, please park to one side, so others can pass. The mansion sits at the top of the highest point overlooking downtown Springfield. There is a private boarding school directly across the street. Maple street is lined with old mansions from the late 19th century. Just a short drive/walk to the MGM Casino, Dr. Seuss Museum, Basketball Hall of Fame, and countless local attractions, there are plenty of places to keep you entertained during your stay.
