Located in a residential neighborhood 12 miles south of the Kona airport, this 1 bedroom, 1 bath, single level ohana has easy access to shopping, beaches, and downtown Kona. During your stay, you can enjoy full access to the yard, downstairs deck, and patio. There is wifi and cable TV. Parking is at the front of the house. We live upstairs and look forward to sharing Hawaii with you. Absolute maximum 2 guests. The the ohana is only rented 10 days a month: minimum 5 days or maximum 10 days. With tiled floors and lots of light, the ohana has Hawaiian décor mixed with collectables from around the world. The bedroom is spacious, containing a desk and a seating area. The kitchen is adequately equipped. The living room has cable TV with a separate seating that looks out on the back yard and the jungle beyond. The bathroom has a shower / tub. There are options for dining: with a bar and bar stools; indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs. There are several areas outside to sit, relax and enjoy the yard and the weather. The nearest retail, Keauhou Shopping Center, is 3 miles from the house . There you will find a grocery, restaurants, a pharmacy, a theater, a post office and an 8AM Saturday Farmers' Market. Closest beach, Kahaluu Beach Park, just 3.6 miles from the house, is good for snorkeling. Kailua-Kona town is about 4 miles from the house. Walking is possible, however the return can be difficult as were at about 500 feet elevation. Having a vehicle to get around is strongly recommended during your stay. It is just 2 home lots below from popular Wailua trail. The back of the property is undeveloped land with tropical vegetation and animals. It is strongly recommended that you have a vehicle during your stay. At about 500 foot elevation, walking is possible but the return can be a little difficult. Through a friend, there is a Kia Soul, a Kia Sedona, and a Ford Explorer that may be available at a discounted rental rate during your stay with us. If interested, you would be connected with them for the necessary arrangements. Hawaii is in the tropics and our home is bordered at the back by jungle. You may encounter insects and geckos inside or outside of the ohana. The local birds can be briefly noisy during the day and on occasion, the coqui frog song can be loud between twilight and dawn.
