Water front cabin-like guest suite on a quiet pond

Our home is located on a wooded lot overlooking a pristine kettle pond. Access to our home requires ascending a long but gradual set of stairs followed by a second set of stairs to the entrance of the guest suite. The two room suite has a bedroom and a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, electric kettle and mini frig. There is a French press, coffee bean grinder, tea, cups, dishes and flatware in the cupboards. It does not have a full kitchen ( no stove/ no kitchen sink) The space The guest suite is a private two room apartment on the bottom floor of our home. The suite has the look and feel of a cozy cabin. Both rooms overlook the pond. There is one bedroom and one combined sitting area /kitchenette. The suite does not have a full kitchen. There is a 1/2 bath in the suite and a full bath on the floor above. The full bath is accessed by ascending a narrow set of stairs. The full bath is dedicated for guest’s use and is separated from the host’s living space with a privacy screen. ( * see below) The outdoor space includes a patio also over looking the pond. In season, guests are welcome to use the water front area which has a dock, two kayaks, and a canoe. In winter the ice may be safe for skating and ice fishing. There is a plunging pool cut into the ice near the dock for those who enjoy a winter plunge. ** * If you are a large person you may find it difficult to scooch around my chairlift at the top of the stairs to the bathroom. ** Consult the host before plunging in the winter and do not plunge alone. Guest access The guest suite is accessed by a private entrance located along the right hand side of the house. Access to the house from the driveway and access to the entrance of the guest suite both require descending stairs. If you have mobility limitations and have difficulty with stairs you may want to reconsider and find something easier to access. However, if you are determined, feel free to send an inquiry. I am physically disabled yet I manage to live here with the help of stair lifts. I may be willing to make them available to you if we determine they are adequate to meets your needs. Other things to note The location is great for fishing ( gear and license required) birding, boating, cycling and hiking. We are located close the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and we have two bikes available for guests. It is also a great place to just relax, read, write, study, meditate and take in the beauty of nature.
