Description
Queen thermopedic bed, cathedral ceiling, large closets, chest of drawers, desk, separate thermostat, shared bath with shower & tub. In the room, you will find information on WiFi, a spare key to the house, towels, extra blankets, a bath matt and a drying rack for damp items. Shared bathroom next door. The space Parallel parking for guests is right in front of my home. A new "green" house rebuilt in 2006--legend has it on the site of Amherst's brothel. The only working girls now are my small flock of hens beside the shed that work for chickenfeed. There are an abundance of flowering trees, bushes and plants make an Amherst springtime a delight for the senses. Autumn finds the trees aflame with color. Guest access With the exceptions of my bedroom, the other guest room and my loft office, guests are free to make themselves at home inside, on the deck or grounds. The Jungle Grrlz (my chickens) love visitors and will bend your ear dishing more dirt than Delta Sand & Gravel down the road in Sunderland. They love bugs more than the NSA. During your stay Depending on your schedule and mine we can have a gab fest or just the bare minimum. I follow the middle path, so I can be still or chatty. I am also a good listener. I am available either in person or by text, email or my cell phone to answer questions or help with directions or suggestions. Other things to note Amherst is central to the Five Colleges, Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke (South Hadley), Smith (Northampton) and the University of Massachusetts flagship campus. The "Happy Valley" as it is affectionately known abounds with arts, crafts, culture, education, farming, sports and recreation. So if it is music, theater, apple picking, museums, dinning, shopping or nature the area is the equal of many Northeastern cities but with less traffic and more convenient parking. Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost were poets who made Amherst their home as have many other notables both historic and contemporary. Whether it is enjoying a Shakespeare play at the Renaissance Center, a "contact high" at Gungafest on the Amherst Common or a homemade ice cream at Bart's there's something for everyone and every taste in the Valley.
