The Cottonwood Cabin

The Cottonwood Cabin is located in the Nine Mile Valley, about 20 miles from Missoula. The home overlooks a cottonwood forest with a trail that meanders down to Nine Mile Creek (Approx. 250 yards). This unique space is clean and comfortable. The space We provide a space that is clean and comfortable with Montana flare. You will find an open floor plan that includes a living room with a flat screen TV and reclining leather furniture, an informal dining space containing a dining nook as well as a fully functional kitchen. There is a view of the surrounding forest out every window in the house. We provide Wi-Fi, streaming, and cell service (which can be hard to come by in this neck of the woods.) There is one bedroom upstairs and one on the main floor. Each room has a comfortable queen bed with plenty of fresh linens. The updated bathroom is also on the main floor. A large fire pit, with chopped wood provided, overlooks the cottonwood forest below. This location serves as a perfect home-base for winter and summer recreation. We are surrounded by ski hills, cross country trails, Lolo National Forest and rivers. Fishing, floating, hunting, hiking, skiing and all things Montana are found in every direction from the cabin. Guest access The basement door will be locked, but you have access to the rest of the house. There is also a very small porch off the second floor bedroom. For safety purposes please do not step onto it. Don't worry we have it clearly marked! Other things to note There is an additional rental house on the property with wonderful neighbors. Please be respectful of their privacy as they will be of yours. This is a forested area with all the delights and wildness of the woods. Therefore, be cautious of bears, beasts, and bugs. Bear spray and bug spray is provided. There is a water softener system to treat the iron in the water. The water occasionally has a mineral smell or taste. Running the water briefly alleviates this. Parking: Please only park on the drive in front or behind the house. Cell service and WiFi tend to fluctuate due to the home's location in the mountains.
