Welcome to Hidden Hollow, nestled in a small valley of woodland and prairie — where life is exquisitely balanced between nature and comfort. A perfect place to gather with family and friends, or for a private escape. Whatever your intention, the retreat was designed to manifest it — come for reflection, renewal, connection; you will find it at Hidden Hollow. • Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway, or a place to spend a few nights enjoying the many lures of bluffcountry in Northeast Iowa - Hidden Hollow is the perfect setting. • • Dogs are welcome! No other pets, please. $50. Additional fee per dog. the Farmhouse — $230. Per night. Sleeps 4. $40 per additional guest beyond 4 (children free). Discounts available for longer stays. Half Moon Cabin - "3rd bedroom". A separate one room cabin sits just behind the Farmhouse. There is a full bed, wood stove, and electricity. If you have more than four guests, the Cabin is also available. There is no plumbing. The Cabin can only be booked with the Farmhouse. Half Moon Cabin is an additional $50. per night. Please let me know how many are in your group, and we will see how to accommodate them. Guest access Relax on the patio with an incredible view of the night sky. No traffic noise. Just birds, frogs and, if you're lucky, the occasional call of a distant coyote. You will have the Farmhouse to yourselves. The house sits on 158 acres of prairie, woodland and hiking trails. The Farmhouse is at the end of a private, half-mile country lane winding through hardwood forest and limestone outcroppings; walking trails, a pond, and peace & quiet await you. The artisan-renovated farmhouse, with thoughtful, restorative amenities, sits perched on a small hill overlooking a gentle valley. When you arrive, you will find a locked gate, and a key box. We'll send you the access code in advance. Please lock the gate behind you when you arrive, and keep it locked during your stay. The lane leading up to the Farmhouse if 1/2 mile long, and winds through rocky creek beds. Please drive slowly, and use caution when crossing the creek beds. An ALL WHEEL DRIVE vehicle is recommended. There is no official driveway leading up to the Farmhouse. We ask that you park down in front on the gravel. Please do not block access for other vehicles in case of emergency. If you would like to drive up to the Farmhouse (on the patio side, to unload your vehicle you are welcome to do so). Other things to note • RULES & REGULATIONS • We have a $200. damage fee set up through Airbnb. If Rules & Regulations are not followed, you may be required to pay the damage fee. Each adult guest must sign a liability waiver for your stay. We will send the waiver via email and you can sign electronically. We care very much about how clean the farmhouse and cabin are! Please leave the property neat and tidy. We will take care of the garbage and recycling for you. Because there is a pond, hiking trails, an outdoor fire pit, and wood burning fireplaces, guests must sign a contract for their own welfare and safety, and a Do-No-Harm to Hidden Hollow. We will send you the contract via email, and you can sign it electronically. We prefer no shoes beyond the mudroom No parties, no outside visitors or overnight guests without prior approval from your host. No Firearms. Please contact me if you are hunting outside the property. No Hunting on the property. Do not engage in illegal activities anywhere on the property. — This applies to both drugs and internet activity. If you break or damage something, please let me know and arrange for its replacement or repair. Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. No smoking Indoors. There are butt tins available on the porches. Please do not put your butts in the indoor garbage cans. No littering. Recycling bins are available. Compost is available. Return all keys. There is a $25. dollar charge per key if you lose them. Outbuildings are off limits to guests - including the barn and tractor shed. • DOG POLICY • Hidden Hollow is a great place to bring your dog. We let our dogs run free without concerns of cars. There are three dog dishes, and two large comfy dog beds available, as well as a dog gate and mudroom equipped with 'dog towels'. There is also a poop can behind the house, pooper scoopers, and small bags to take on hikes. Please pick up your dog poop - even on the trails. This makes it much nicer for the next guest who comes along. No dogs allowed on any furniture. Please prevent your dog from jumping on window ledges and screens. Your dog is free to run around and explore! However, we are not responsible for any harm or injury. If you need to wash your dog, please use the exterior hose. No dogs in the Bathtub! Please be sure that your dogs are up on all shots, and heartworm and tick medication. • FIRE SAFETY • We have a beautiful indoor fireplace in the FarmHouse, a small woodstove in the cabin, and an outdoor fire pit which we hope you use! If you are not that familiar with building fires, please read the guide in the Farmhouse. To ensure that the fireplace vents properly, please refer to the guide before using - we don’t want to fill the room with smoke just before you sit down to dinner! • WATER SAFETY AND WAIVER • We welcome you to enjoy the pond! In the early summer it’s wonderful for a swim, (skinny dippers welcome!), and throughout the warm months it’s perfect for exploring and taking out the kayaks. You must supply your own lifejackets. Please do use extreme care when enjoying the pond. We are not responsible for any harm or injury or accident that may occur. • OUTDOOR SAFETY • We welcome you to explore Hidden Hollow. The trails are beautiful for walking or snowshoeing. Be aware of sunburns, ticks and mosquitoes. We have sunscreen and insect repellant available. Please know that we are not liable for any accident or incident that may occur when you are at Hidden Hollow Acreage.
