The 1780 Suite

Join us for a step back in time at our unique bucolic property. Set on a scenic road, the post and beam farmhouse was built in 1780 and offers a haven of peace and tranquillity after a busy day of exploring New England. Guests have a private entrance and wind their way up the period staircase to the second-floor suite with two bedrooms, a sitting room, a breakfast nook, and a bathroom. Enjoy your morning coffee outside on the Adirondack chairs as you contemplate the charms of country living. The space The 800+ sq ft suite occupies the entire second floor of our home. Guests will enjoy the original wide plank chestnut floorboards and low ceilings (6'2") that provide a truly authentic 18th-century experience. The traditional 6/6 windows provide plenty of light and air allowing the myriad of country sounds to greet you as you awake each morning and allow you a restful sleep each night. The surrounding fields and woods provide opportunities for vigorous hikes for exercise or meditative walks for relaxation. Please note: There is no TV but devices can access our strong WiFi. Guest access The 1780 Suite is centrally located in the heart of the Blackstone Valley just 25 minutes from Worcester, 30 minutes from Providence RI, and 60 minutes from Boston. Parking is available on the property. Guests can walk the scenic roads. Seasonal XC skiing is a great way to tour the property. Meadowbrook Woods is a half mile down the road. Cormier Woods and Mendon Town Forest are both within a 5-minute drive and provide well-maintained trails for off-leash dog walking, mountain biking, and snow-shoeing. Other things to note There is NO FULL KITCHEN for meal prep. There is a fridge, microwave, Keurig, and electric kettle, along with dishes, glasses, and cutlery. In keeping with the 18th-century experience, there is NO TV. The Suite is rented as a unit and is booked by guests traveling together. Inquire about our SOLO TRAVELER RATE. There is no additional cleaning fee. Ever. 😊 We are PET-FRIENDLY and we welcome friendly pets for a small fee. PETS MAY NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED at any time. There are pet-sitting services in the area (with advance notice) if you need a place to leave your pet. Due to the nature of the period staircase, we regret that we cannot accommodate guests with significant mobility challenges. Adults 25 and older, please. Young adults and children traveling with their parent(s)/guardian(s) are welcome. We welcome families, but please be advised that the Suite may present challenges for toddlers and young children. Our cousin’s listing, ZigZag Trails, is right across the road and accommodates two additional guests with 65 acres of woods and trails to explore. We welcome groups!
