PRIVATE 2 BEDROOM SUITE IN OUR HOME Your private 2 bedroom suite awaits you in our home. We're surrounded by 245 acres of conservation land, with magnificent pond views. In season maybe you will want to watch the yellow finches and hummingbirds flittering around the yard. Or take in the fall beauty of the falling leaves. In summer explore Cape Ann and our award winning beaches. Whether it's history, nature or dining on fresh New England seafood your senses will come alive. The space YOUR PRIVATE SUITE is 2 bedrooms, a sitting room/office, and bathroom. Since the suite is private yet in our home, it's wonderful to chat with our guests who love to connect. At the same time, we fully respect your privacy, even though we may see each other in passing. Please be aware this is a suite rental only, it is not our entire home rental. We are in a rural location but only minutes to the finest ocean beaches, the commuter rail to Boston, historic Salem, Marblehead and quintessential Gloucester & Rockport (Cape Ann). It's an easy day trip to coastal NH and Maine. Step out of the house and explore acres of wooded trails for walking, hiking, fishing, pond swimming, cross country skiing and even mountain biking. Gordon College is a 15 minute walk on a well marked trail. The college and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is a 5 minute drive. Our home provides year round comfort by utilizing geothermal heating and cooling as an alternative energy source. Guests are delighted with the abundant beauty and comfort; they feel relaxed and well taken care of. We hear from guests that they don't remember having as sound of a night's sleep as they did in the suite. People leave feeling rested, recharged and filled from the quiet setting. We happily welcome LGBTQ+ guests. We offer a clean, peaceful and comfortable three room private suite for a maximum of 4 guests. with a modern bathroom and tub/shower. Close the door to the suite where there are two bedrooms, bathroom, and sitting room for your private retreat. There is a large bedroom with a comfortable new queen size Casper bed, Coop pillows, Brooklinen linen duvet cover and down comforter, a desk and also comfortable sitting chair. The second and smaller bedroom has a very comfortable double/full bed with a dresser, bureau, and closet. The linens are 100% cotton organic, down comforter and duvet. The sitting room has a desk & chair, 2 small sitting chairs, small refrigerator, coffee & tea maker and full cable tv. The rental has 2 beds for sleeping. If 4 people book, please know 2 people will be sharing both beds. There are no additional sleeping accommodations available. We offer our guests a complimentary, continental style breakfast buffet one morning of their stay. We typically serve coffee, tea, fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, cereal and fixings, toast, cheese and nut butter. We love to help you start off your day having eaten a wholesome meal. It's also a convenient time to get to know our guests, for those who are interested and have the time to do so - to get to know one other a bit. The beauty of the suite is you will feel remote due to the woods and pond, but in fact we are close to so much to see and do in quintessential New England, no matter what season it may be. We have a canoe, life jackets and a sit-on top kayak for you to use on the pond across the street. In the warmer weather, we are happy to have you enjoy the 'outdoors' by spending time in our comfortable and attractive, large screened in porch. Relax on the Crate & Barrel modern swivel upholstered chairs or hammock swing, eat breakfast at a table & chairs. You will be looking out in the backyard taking in the splendid array of birds at the feeders. At night in the darkness, experience the quiet and beauty of the twinkle lights, listening to the the sounds of the bull frogs and owls, or an occasional raccoon. We are in easy access to all of the North Shore cultural and recreational activities. You can go to Boston by car in 45 minutes (Boston does have traffic), by ferry from Salem, as well as by the Commuter Rail (a stop in Hamilton about 5 minutes away.) Staying local: The surrounding towns of Essex and Ipswich, and all of Cape Ann are famous for fried clams and the finest fresh seafood. Essex is an antique lover's paradise. Hamilton is home to Myopia Hunt Club, also minutes away is America's oldest tea house. Close by in Salem is the renowned Peabody Essex Museum. We have many beaches close by to swim and walk on such as Crane Beach in Ipswich (ranked in the top 25 of U.S. beaches by Trip Advisor's travelers), Singing Beach in Manchester By the Sea, Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, all within a 20 minute drive from the suite. Rockport, Gloucester, Salem and Marblehead all offer rich historic (and haunted) attractions such as The House of Seven Gables, Salem Witch Museum. On Salem harbor there are cruises, schooners and tour boats. There is even a ferry to Boston. No matter which season you stay with us, you will delight in the abundant natural beauty. Beaches, hiking, biking, pond skating, river canoeing, farm trails, apple orchards, fall activities (corn mazes, haunted happenings in Salem, etc) museums, historical sights, bird watching, scenic drives. We look forward to hosting you and welcoming you to New England and the North Shore/Cape Ann. We are happy to offer you suggestions for dining, recreating, history, nature, city life, day trips. While raising our two sons in the house, we have always taken advantage of the wonders that surround us here in Cape Ann. We are excited to be a part of making your visit to New England a memorable one. Guest access There are 6 steps after coming into the house (our foyer) to the door that leads to the private rental suite. Guests are sent a keyless entry code prior to check-in. The front door is the guest's private entrance, however due to the open layout of the house, our kitchen is across from the entrance door so if we are in the kitchen at the same time we will likely see one another. We love to get to know our guests, and at the same time we fully respect your desire for privacy and space. In the warm months you have full access to our large, screened porch that has delightfully comfortable swivel chairs where you can immerse yourself in nature. Listen to and watch the bird activity, the sounds of the trees swaying. At night enjoy the quiet darkness in the porch lit by soft twinkle lights. We have a canoe and sit on top kayak, as well as life jackets for your use on the pond. Other things to note IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OCTOBER BOOKINGS: Summer is when our October calendar will open. Seeking Gordon (and other) College booking requests for October. All October Salem/Halloween booking requests will be screened by hosts for approval. October is a 3 night minimum. Exceptions: College family bookings please inquire about exceptions to this minimum policy. No matter what season you stay with us, you will delight in the natural setting.
