The space In addition to the spacious master bedroom, one of Opencanvas’ best features are the double French doors that open up to a large, lovely screened porch ... where even the floorboards are screened. Just say no to mosquitoes! It's super private, overlooks the lush back courtyard and is a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning, an afternoon nap on the plush futon or a glass of wine at sundown. Warm lighting, a ceiling fan and all the furnishings needed are there for you to relax and get it together for your next Bywater/Marigny/French Quarter adventure. Another wonderful feature is the classic raised front porch. It is a great place to relax and "stoop" with the neighbors. Enjoy some delicious boiled crawfish, listen to WWOZ, read a book or catch up on emails all while people watching folks rambling down Rampart Street. Last up is the classic, but supersized, back courtyard. Wait to you see this! Surrounded by tropical plants, creative lighting and seven foot privacy fence, there is a gas grill and table and chairs for six. Plus, we just installed a custom built, in-ground, super-heated swim spa. It has pool-sized natural gas heater, so it warms up in a jiffy and the soak is paradise on earth. Jets in all the right places, bubbles galore and even gentile, full size stairs with a hand-rail to safely guide you in and out of your soak. Big enough for a party, private enough for a deep, soothing massage. Welcome to the Big Easy, dawlin'! Please note that the space is accessed by tha side walkway about 70 feet long, and up and over a set if side stairs. So, unfortunately, we are not handicapped accessible. Please let us know if you would like to arrange a yoga session, message, or other spa, health club or relaxation services to complement your courtyard experience. We have towels, robes and slippers for you, too. Yummy. Or, just tell us privacy is a premium, and once we check you in, you will be on your own until you're to ready to re-surface and join the world. Guest access A large front courtyard entrance has wrought iron gates/fencing and pedestrian entrance & side gates. Opencanvas guest have an independent entrance through the back courtyard, accessed via the side gate and walkway. Custom milled hurricane shutters on every window compliment motion detection lighting over the garden entrance and walkways. PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL EVENT MINIMUM STAYS (some flexibility depending on availability -- please inquire): 5 nights during Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest (Per Both Weeks), Halloween/Voodoo Fest and New Year's Eve. 4 nights during year-end holidays (Thanksgiving/Christmas), as well as special sporting events, such as Final Four. 4 nights on all remaining holiday weekends, including Krewe du Vieux, Easter, French Quarter Fest, Memorial Day, July 4th & Labor Day.
