Our Historic Building served as the Headquarters of General Andrew Jackson during the victorious Battle of New Orleans against the British! Our 5th floor 1bd Penthouse is furnished w/antiques and has a full kitchen, living room and bath. The other two bedrooms are a short level down and have a 1/2 bath and computer/printer. The space This beautiful historic Royal Street Apartment is within a more than 200 year old French Quarter building whose 20th and 21st Century uses have included modern offices, our family's residence (2nd floor) and apartment living. Built in 1811 by French Merchant, Germain Musson ( Grandfather of French Painter Edgar Degas) our Historic building served as the Headquarters for General Andrew Jackson during the victorious Battle of New Orleans against the British! Also in its past, it served as a building that housed a Cotton Company who stored its goods there before shipping them out along the Mississippi. It has a great location with easy access to restaurants, shops, Bourbon Street, Riverwalk Shops, Canal Place Shopping, and steps away from the street car which will take you to the Historic Garden District and to shop along Magazine Street. The Penthouse is a beautiful, quiet retreat at the end of the day. Perfect for both a short weekend getaway and rental for long term visitors. If you have up to 6 people maximum in your group-we can accommodate you. The Penthouse bedroom has a king size bed and full bathroom with sunken marble tub. The second bedroom has 2 beds-a queen size bed and a full bed. The 3rd bedroom has two twin day beds. Penthouse has a full bathroom and there is a 1/2 bath for the other bedrooms. Depending upon events going on outside which are out of our control, you may hear some sounds. If you are sensitive to sound, you may want to bring earplugs or sleep in the penthouse. Let us know so we can accommodate you and your guests! Also there is a business area set up if you need a laptop and a printer. We have free wifi throughout the building. Guest access Guest will have private and secure access to the entire 4th and 5th floors including Penthouse and three fourth floor bedrooms and 1/2 bath. You will not have access to any other floors. We have an office and apartment which operates on 2nd floor during the week days, the 3rd floor has another private apartment. Guests are asked not to enter these areas or to go onto any fire escapes or balconies. You have private access to entire 4th floor including all bedrooms and 5th floor Penthouse! There are 3 bedrooms and 1/2 bathroom on the fourth floor. Only your party will have access to your entire two floor area while you are staying with us. Other things to note We are here to answer any questions and to offer your our "local" recommendations on where to go, eat, shop and visit! We are natives of New Orleans and love sharing our City with everyone! It's just the New Orleans way!
