Madrid Room - White House of Eldora B&B

Renovated early 1900's Manor into a taste of European culture. Travel to Paris, Madrid, Venice, or Vienna for a night in a peaceful rural Iowa town in Iowas beautiful River Greenbelt. Biking and hiking trails, fishing, boating, canoeing, floating the river, all within a couple miles. An Iowa own winery is can be visited nearby. Price listed is per room, per night. The space The focal point of the Madrid Room is the impressive period style black-brown wrought iron bed and rich wine red walls accented with ivory woodwork and Spanish style accents. This room has direct access to a deck where breakfast can be eaten or a glass of Sangria drunk on pleasant Iowa evenings. On clear nights there is a fantastic view of the star studded sky, especially striking when there is a full moon. A large closet and fold out tables for guests belongings are available. Please note that although the room can accommodate 4 guests, the second queen size bed is an air mattress! Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house including the patio garden next to the Garden room, second floor deck, salon and dining room. Only the kitchen is restricted when breakfast is being prepared. During your stay I love interacting with my guests and will gladly show them around town go out to dinner with them or just share a glass of wine, however I also respect their wish for privacy and or solitude. As a Superhost since 2017, I will everything in my power to make their stay comfortable, clean, and memorable. Other things to note Guests should be aware that the main bath is shared if there are other guests. The bath/shower has a telephone faucet and takes some getting used to. If all rooms are occupied some bath articles may be kept in the guests room where there is adequate place for hanging damp towels and placing personal articles. Otherwise there are built in cabinets and drawers in the bathroom as well as towel rods where guests may keep their personal care products. All mattresses and pillows were bought brand new before the opening in 2017. They are covered with mattress and pillow protectors against bedbugs. The linens and blankets are laundered with skin sensitive detergent. Three entry doors are located on the deck and provide direct access to two guestrooms and the innkeeper's living quarters which is quite convenient but can cause added noise except in winter when the deck is not accessible. A continental breakfast of biscuits or rolls and/or cinnamon rolls are offered or cereals if preferred, with coffee,tea and juice. Full sit-down warm breakfasts are available for an additional $8.50 per person. guests can choose from a variety of options such as scrambled eggs with bacon and rolls or biscuits, Belgian waffle served with fruit, or French toast served with fruit for example. Organically grown foods(fruit, honey, maple syrup, some dairy products and always organic eggs are used as available). Coffee is freshly ground in the morning and can be combined with organic decaf to produce a half calf blend. Specialties served with breakfast include Amana Colony apple butter and Nutella. Last but not least, as mentioned in the description there are cats on the property but they are confined to the owner's apartment in the attic area or weather permitting the garden room. They are usually very quiet but an occasional meow or patter of paws on the floor or scratching may not be totally unavoidable. We are bicyclist and pet friendly. Construction workers welcome. Please note that the rooms are subject to state and local taxes (approx 12%) that is not included in the price on the website.
