Description

Retreat to Hale 'Io (named after the Hawaiian hawk residing near by), a studio apartment tucked away on a vibrant and lush coffee farm in Captain Cook! You've a private bath and kitchenette, queen size bed. Fruits, vegetables, coffee, and herbs galore. A wonderful sweetheart escape for the adventurous, set just 2 miles from Kealakekua Bay a marine preserve with spectacular snorkeling and hiking. And 2.5 miles from the City of refuge. The perfect headquarters for your Big Island explorations. The space Our small coffee farm is verdant and alive with the sounds of birds through the day, and coqui frogs at night. During the week there might be farm noises, as we work cultivating our coffee. Your space is located on the front of the house, directly under our living room. you might hear us sometimes, but WE are in bed by 9pm. (We will not hear you since we sleep on the third floor.) You will have well equipped kitchenette, fridge, slow cooker, nutribullet blender, pots and pans and double hot plate- all you’ll need to make a meal. There is also a dehumidifier and air purifier to keep the moist jungle air and occasional volcano pollution at bay. WE HAVE BEEN ALSO FILLING POT Holes ON OUR RD. Please, be advised that Coffee Estate road is rough and our guests (depending on their driving skills) should drive a high clearance vehicle, to access our property. Our friends have no problem accessing our farm in passenger cars. Sim,y drive slow and you can come in any vehicle. I am including pictures of our road in photos. Guest access We recommend high clearance vehicle for the Big island in general, you will be able to explore more remote locations and thus will have more fun. To access Hale 'Io-high clearance vehicle is recommended, but not necessary. Many guests have drove the rough rd to our place without problems. Parking on the property is free. Parking is available directly in-front of the rental unit, or on top of the driveway parallel to other cars parked there.
