This is a loft suite on an operating ranch 4 miles north of the turn-off to Many Glacier GNP gate, and about 3 miles south of the Chief Mountain GNP gate Highway (HWY17). It is a peaceful retreat, decorated in tasteful traditional western decor. This place has a beautiful view of Triple Divide Mountain and the St. Mary area from its front deck. You wont be disappointed in this cozy nook, just a skip away from your adventures in Glacier National Park, and the sweet little town of Babb. No Wifi. Perfect for a couple, or a couple and an additional person. There is a military style cot for a fourth guest if an additional sleeping spot is needed. Please note there is no Wifi at this location. Also, be aware that the food warming area, with a microwave, coffee station and mini-fridge, is not a kitchen. Because there is not a sink where one could wash dishes in this area of the room, there are not dishes and utensils provided. If you plan to warm groceries, or eat in, you will need to bring disposable dishes and utensils. Guests are welcome to the yard in front of the guest house, the front deck, and guest loft interior. I do not live on the premises, just manage the guest house, so wont be there to interact with guests. I am reachable through cell phone and Messenger if a guest needs me for anything. Please note, cell reception in the area is VERY spotty, I may not receive your communication immediately, but will respond to your call or message as soon as I am able, generally within an hour. Babb is a very small, quiet town in a valley below the gate to Glacier National Park's Many Glacier area, and the Canadian border. It is home to a mixture of Blackfeet tribal members, cattle ranchers, Glacier Park personnel, and US Border protection agents and officers. The children here attend a school with two classrooms, split into k-2 and 3-6 grades, comprised of 28 students. High school kids bus to Browning. Everyone knows everyone here, and most of us are related. The summer months bring millions of visitors to our little town which changes the dynamic a great deal. Welcome to our little slice of Paradise! There is no public transportation in the area. There are tour buses in the park, but they do not travel outside of the park. There are friendly, loosely roaming, working cattle dogs on the property. There are stairs to climb to the loft guest suite. There is a possibility of ranch work involving cattle and horses in the immediate vicinity, which can some times be noisy and distracting, but generally occurs during daylight hours. There are lovely people living next door who run this ranch, and their privacy should be respected. There is no Wifi available with this listing and the only cell company that has reception in the Babb valley is Verizon. Fishing on Duck Lake requires a Blackfeet tribal fish and games permit. Fishing in GNP is included with your park pass. Travel into Canada requires a passport or birth certificate for every member of your party. Waits at the Carway border entry average 30 to 60 minutes in the summer months, longer on weekends and holidays. If you are heading to Waterton the quickest route will be up Chief Mountain/HWY17, where there is occasionally, but not more than, a 5 to 10 minute wait. Our favorite restaurants are out at Many Glacier, The Swiftcurrent Inn, and in Babb, Glaciers Edge. The Leaning Tree, near the guest house has pretty good burgers and fries. The Hun's Den has good paprikashi, and great friendly service. There are two grocery stores in the valley, Thronson's in Babb, and the St. Mary Grocery in St. Mary. The nearest large chain grocery stores are in Browning Montana, about 30 miles south of the guest house, Glacier Family Foods, and Teeples IGA.
