Description
Tucked into one end of my 1830 federal house is a lovely private space with many period features (such as wallpaper from the late 19th century, original pine flooring, plaster walls and quality construction). There is a large private deck off the living room, a gas stove to sit by on cold days, a spacious bathroom and pretty views of our little valley in Shelburne. Shinglebrook Farm is a small working farm with cows, goats and pigs all pastured together and often within view. The space The farm is located 3 miles from the junction of route 2 and I91 in Greenfield, Mass. it is close to Berkshire East (skiing and zip lining), river activities on the Deerfield river, Shelburne Falls (Bridge of Flowers, Potholes and some excellent eateries), the 5 college area, hiking, biking and some of the most beautiful scenery in the northeast. There is no actual kitchen in the space but there is a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee grinder and maker, water boiler etc.... If someone wanted to use a grill, I have one available. There is a comfy vintage camper that is available as an add- on to this space. It would sleep two more people and actually has a little stove and fridge in it. Add- on only for $50/night. Guest access There is access to a deck as well as some space on the front porch. Guests are welcome to see the livestock but should not go inside the fence. There is electric fencing that hurts when touched. Please request permission to go in the barn. Other things to note There are two dogs and two cats that live in the house. Out in the barn there are cows, pigs and goats, chickens and turkeys. Sometimes there are babies to see.
