Your spacious room is filled with natural light. Have breakfast on the deck and watch the neighboring alpacas and donkeys have theirs. Take an early morning jog or walk through the woods or on the quiet country roads (I have a 3 and 1/2 mile circle that I do). Read full description to hear about breakfast. Joan and Josette have been fully vaccinated against Covid 19 to protect our guests -- we require that our guests have also been fully vaccinated before their arrival The space Stay in our 'Westerly' room with a private bath and queen-size bed on the upper floor. Spacious, airy, colorful and light, this room is special. 10 minutes by car from downtown Amherst, fabulous breakfast, and a view for 60 miles. We are just minutes from Hampshire College, Amherst College, and the University of Massachusetts. We're located almost 1000 feet above the Connecticut Valley: lots of light, adjoining pastures with our alpaca & donkey neighbors, wild turkeys, stone walls, fields and forest. If you have the time, enjoy hiking trails, country walks, biking (we can loan you our 2 bikes) and jogging right outside the door. Down the hill in Amherst and Northampton, there are lots of restaurants, boutiques, and the 5 colleges. The 4 seasons are all beautiful up here and we can see both the sunrise and the sunset. A typical breakfast buffet might include homemade baked goods, fresh bread, homemade jams & jellies, fresh-ground coffee/tea, local pasture raised eggs, homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruit. We can accommodate Carnivores, omnivores, vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, egalitarians, octogenarians....... Guest access The contemporary living room with its bank of windows and plants is common space. Or sit out on the deck to enjoy viewing the animals and the view or in the yard under the crab-apple tree. During your stay We can direct you to local sites and match your eating and pocketbook preferences with local restaurants. Living in the area now since 1980, we know many of the Pioneer Valley's secret places. Other things to note Although we don't provide cooking facilities, you are welcome to use the fridge as well as the electric kettle; we have a variety of teas from which to choose. Our delicious water comes from our own well, so there's no need to buy bottled water while you're here.
