Quaint Cottage with Backyard Deck, A Perfect Getaway
Quaint Cottage with Backyard Deck, A Perfect Getaway
Description
Find a true Provincetown escape at this charming home. Conveniently located a short five-minute walk from Commercial Street, the cottage features all the comforts of home, an eclectic mix of furnishings and decor, an open concept living area, and a large outdoor lounge area with BBQ and hammock. Great for remote work with fast Wi-Fi and dedicated space. The house was built in 1940, and we were the first to tackle a meticulous renovation (2017). We look forward to hosting you! The space The cottage is around 720 sq. ft., and it is a great location for relaxing after a day at the beach or a night out on the town, hanging out and grilling in the backyard while playing a game of Baggo, or using the Murphy desk in the guest room to get some work done. Both bedrooms have a memory foam mattress, a multi-drawer dresser, a full-length mirror, and an ample closet. Both bedrooms also have ceiling fans, lamps, reading lights, and stylish cotton linens (and extra blankets for cool nights as well as black-out shades for mornings when you would like to get some extra sleep). The second bedroom’s full-size bed is a Murphy-style bed that can be lowered for bedtime and raised during the day to take advantage of the floor space for yoga (mat provided), the fold-down desk for work, a pack-n-play for families (pack-n-play not provided), or the extra space to store the loot you collect from local shopping! We like to use it as an office for remote work, utilizing the high-speed Wi-Fi. The living room, dining room, and kitchen provide for open plan living, family fun, sit-down dinners and entertaining. The living room has a working fireplace to add romance to cool nights and coziness to cold winter stays. We provide fire logs that are good for 3-4 hours of firelight. On rainy days or movie night, enjoy the 40” 4K UHD Smart TV and Blue-ray DVD player. Smart TV has YouTube TV, Netflix, and other video apps so you can keep up with your favorite series or catch a new release movie. We also have a small collection of DVDs for the DVD player, and a Bluetooth speaker system, which is also portable to add tunes to your backyard bbq. The dining area features a glass dining table that can easily expand from four to six seats. In the mood to dine in? The kitchen comes equipped with an LPG gas range, microwave, whisper quiet Bosch dishwasher, Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a Nespresso coffee maker with a milk frother. In addition to the full range of appliances, the kitchen is also outfitted with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils needed. Next to the kitchen is the laundry closet with state of the art Electrolux full-size washing machine and dryer. The bathroom has a combination tub and shower with sliding glass doors, dual-flush toilet and vanity. We completely renovated both the bathroom and kitchen to include all the modern conveniences a guest would expect. Fun extras include Aquis Adventure towels, a freezable, soft cooler picnic bag, and Corkcicle tumblers for beach trips (and a Corkcicle canteen if you’re so inclined); a Vinglace wine chiller and assorted appetizer accoutrements for the cocktail hour; and for anyone visiting in winter, a fireplace, logs, extra blankets, and a few games + books. In 2023 we installed a 4kW solar array on the south facing roof of the cottage. The system supports +100% of the annual electrical usage of the cottage, returning net power to the grid. Guest access You will have access to the whole house and outdoor space except for the mechanical room/closet. There is nothing interesting in there other than a fancy boiler and extra cleaning supplies. Other things to note If you have a chef in the group: there are sharp knives (and a knife sharpener) for your chef-ing pleasure; a couple of All Clad stainless tri-ply pans (3 qt. sauce and 6 qt. deep saute); any and all manner of cooking implement; a splatter screen; a Black Cube nonstick fry pan; and a lot of mixing bowls. Most importantly, a dishwasher. When using the Murphy bed: the closet door needs to stay open (see pic). Because of that, we have added a hook to the back of the closet door and, of course, ensured the closet looks nice inside, including a built-in dresser. Anyone allergic to down: All bedding - except for a couple of decorative pillows - is down-free. Those of you who like to socialize: the dining room table extends to seat six people. Parking: there are two guest spots and one owner spot. When we are not in town, the owner spot is also available to guests. Please note: for stays that are approximately two weeks (or longer), an additional cleaning ($110) at your convenience will be required. We will modify your reservation at the time of booking to reflect this supplemental cleaning.
