Newly decorated with natural elements, this home has a coastal theme with a tropical Hawaiian flair, including an outdoor shower. Enjoy the sunrise in your own private 2 bedroom (sleeps 4), 1 bath, entire upper-level vacation home only 2 blocks from the ocean. You will be welcomed by the honu (turtle) gate as you enter the property. A private entrance and stairway will lead you into your rental home, featuring a large (500+ square foot) lanai with a view of the ocean. There is also a small deck at the top of the stairs for watching sunrises in the morning and stargazing at night. Fully furnished, the lanai includes a bamboo table and bamboo chairs (seating for 6), a bistro table for 2, a seagrass sectional sofa, a mahogany hand carved daybed, and a swinging chair. Relax while you hear the birds and jungle sounds along with the ocean waves while you sip tea or Kona coffee. As you enter the home through the sliding glass doors, you will find an open floor plan with lots of windows making it spacious and bright, with great trade wind breeze from the ocean. There is another dining table with seating for 4, a comfortable family room with all new furnishings and TV, and an “open-air” fully equipped kitchen with an island. Off to the side of the kitchen there is a designated desk space for you to work or write the next best seller. The main bedroom features a California King hand-carved mahogany poster bed frame with a Tempurpedic memory foam bed for a wonderful night sleep. The second bedroom has a hand-carved mahogany headboard with a queen-sized memory foam bed. Newly remodeled bathroom with walk-in custom marble shower with rainfall showerhead. Ceiling fans are in each of the rooms. Newly decorated with natural elements of wood, wicker, bamboo, and seagrass, this home has a coastal theme with a tropical Hawaiian flair. There are many fruit trees (lemon, avocado, breadfruit (Ulu), tangerines, over 10 banana plants, pineapple, macadamia nut, passion fruit, and papaya) on the property and guests are welcome to enjoy any of the fruit that is ready for picking. (Kathy is happy to show you how to pick the fruit, just ask). A large side yard and garden. Walk 2 blocks to the ocean cliffs and look for sea turtles and whales and have a picnic at one of the parks. Shared amenities: A tile mosaic outdoor shower, hot tub, washer & dryer, grill. Other items included: Surfboard, 4 boogie boards, snorkel gear, 2 beach chairs, beach umbrella, a beach blanket, cart and cooler with wheels. We ask you to please wash the snorkel gear each time you use. If you don’t want to use ours, Walmart or Target in Hilo has sets to purchase. Fully equipped open air kitchen: Stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, electric coffee maker, Bodum pour over coffee pot, French press coffee pot, Burr coffee grinder, Magic Bullet blender, pots, pans bakeware, dishes, glasses, serving bowls, storage bowls, cooking and eating utensils. Also included: Beach towels, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bedsheets, duvets, and comforters, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, first aid kit, blow dryer, iron, ironing board, dish soap, laundry detergent pods, and cleaning supplies. You are welcome to use the Wifi. And Netflix, Hulu and YouTube TV (which has 85+ networks), are available for your viewing pleasure. The on-site host (Kathy), occupies the lower level of the home. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. She is available as much or as little as you like. Guest access The best way to get around the Big Island is by car. But there is a bus pick up location a few blocks away. This is a small neighborhood setting. You will have access to a parking space in the driveway or in the side yard.
