Pua's Patch: The Blue Room
If you like charming old real-deal character, low tech country peacefulness, and homes full of good spirits and deep aloha, just hele mai (come). . .and welcome to our plantation home! Egan and I live in the closed off downstairs area of the house, while you are welcome to enjoy the entire upstairs and possibly share with guests renting the Tivaevae Room. The space If you're interested in how people lived during the plantation era of Hawai'i one hundred years ago, my home is a perfect opportunity to experience just that. This historic home was built in 1920, and I recently had the remarkable opportunity to talk story with a woman who lived here in the 1930's as a young girl. What stories she had to tell! Please check out all my listings so you get a good overview of my entire property. The Blue Room has a queen sized double bed and is perfect for a single person or two adults. It is the most central room in the entire house so is right next to everything---kitchen and bath. If you are traveling with more than one, please check out my room down the hall. It's much bigger and more appropriate for couples. Neither space can accommodate more than two, so please note that children and infants will count toward the occupancy limitations. In general, my old country home is clean, cozy, quaint and comfortable, but NOT luxurious. The roosters are loud in the morning, and the coqui frogs are loud at night. When the surf is up and conditions are right, you can hear the waves smashing and peeling down the sea cliffs. Lots of "country" noise here--but not much urban clatter. Also, I must apologize, we do NOT have TV here! Never have and never will. We do, of course, have wifi. Guest access You are welcome to wander the front yard and cruise on the front porch, and we'll share seasonal food as I collect it . You are also welcome to use the kitchen to create your own small meals. And the coffee/tea bar is always open! During your stay I am here to make your visit as easy and as pleasant as possible. I'm happy to suggest activities, restaurants, and sites of interest. I can loan you books, maps, and direct you to web sites and other local resources. Please let me know your needs and interests, and I will be as involved or as scarce as you like! Other things to note Follow the directions I send you via Airbnb on the day of your arrival. DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR PHONE MAP APP!! It is WRONG and will get you lost. Please note: THERE IS NO TV ON THIS PROPERTY. ALL shoes must be left on the front porch. Indoor slippers are welcome, but no outside shoes come inside. Mahalo!! Registration number TA-012-274-8928-01
