CAPE MAY BEACH: Beach Tags are required for ages 12 and above from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Beach Tags run (per person) 1 day for $10, 3 days for $20, 1 week for $25. Tags can be purchased at the south entrance Hut at the foot of Broadway Avenue, at the north entrance Hut near the Convention Center (the huge Building on the beach) or set up on the beach and obtain them from Tag Checkers that roam the beach. Military Veterans are free with ID. Children age 11 and under are free.---We do not offer beach tags because we would pay the highest corporate rate for only 1 rental unit.---NOTE: Cape May Point sells their own Beach Tags, $10/day, $25/week, age 11 and under free; City tags are not valid there; Cape May Point offers free seasonal beach tags to active-duty military, their families, and veterans, with proper ID required at Borough Hall. CAPE MAY PARKING: From 4/01 to 10/31, 10am to 10pm, parking spaces and meters are 25¢ (quarters) per 10 minutes and also accept payments via the Park Mobile App ($1.50/hour). Beach Avenue parking meters are only on the beach side; the business side only accepts Park Mobile. The Cape May Washington Street Mall perimeter only accepts Park Mobile ($2/hour) from 4/1 to 12/31, 10am to 10pm. Parking lots have Kiosk machines that give tickets to place on your dash (must be visible from your windshield); machines take quarters, cash, cards, or accepts the Park Mobile App (no ticket in window required when using the App). The parking lots likely still charge from 1/01 to 3/31 but check the kiosks for an indication on this. CAPE MAY CHARGING STATIONS: Our rental offers EV Level 2 charging through a 220 volt 50 amp NEMA 14-50 receptacle. Prior to arriving, please advise us about your vehicle to ensure you have an appropriate adapter. ChargePoint stations are available at the Cape May Welcome Center (on Lafayette Street; they have 6 just as you pull in) and City Hall, and there are FLO chargers at the West Cape May Municipal Complex at 732 Broadway. Please use the apps/websites for those services to determine exact location, parking cost, availability, electricity cost, plug types, compatibility, etc. The shopping plaza at 11 Court House South Dennis Road (ACME) in Cape May Court House also has 12 Tesla supercharging stations that are available 24/7. They are walking distance to the grocery store, pharmacy, and several restaurants. The Bluedot app works in Cape May. WILDWOOD BOARDWALK: Starting in May open Friday evenings 6-10pm and Saturday/Sunday afternoons/evenings 1-10pm. On June 1st through Labor Day open daily 1-10pm. After Labor Day, open Friday evenings 6-10pm, Saturday afternoons/evenings 1-10pm, and Sunday 1pm to 6 or 10pm until October 31-ish. WILDWOOD BEACHES: Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and North Wildwood Beaches do not charge. WATER PARKS: Starting June 1st the Raging Waters/Mariners Pier/Schellenger Avenue opens on Saturdays/Sundays 10am-5pm, then starting June 15ish this water park and the Ocean Oasis/Surfside Pier/26th Avenue are open daily 10am-5pm. The Splash Zone/Mariner's Pier/Schellenger Avenue opens 10am-5:30pm daily June 22ish through Labor Day. The Water Parks close after Labor Day and some may stay open a few more days if we have great weather. WILDWOOD PARKING: The majority of Wildwood has free street parking with meters located along Pacific Avenue on the east side up to Ocean Avenue. The meters are active 8:00am to 5pm (some areas until midnight) every day from May 15th to October 31st, including Holidays; meters take quarters or Park Mobile App. Other major streets have parking May 15 to September 15 via Park Mobile; Wildwood also has private parking lots for $10-$20/day. NOTE: Parking is free on the bay side of New Jersey Avenue. WILDWOOD CREST charges for parking from 8am to 10pm between May 15 and September 15. NORTH WILDWOOD charges for parking from 9am to midnight from May 15 to the last Sunday in October, $3-$5/hour. We are in a peaceful alcove between our property and 2 adjacent neighbors’ properties where we have a small chicken coop; there are expansive woods behind us. We are in a centralized position in a rural area that offers easy access to daily needs shopping within 2.5-3.0 miles. We have easy access to a 15-mile biking/walking path and have a lockable Shed with Beach Gear where you can store up to 6 Bikes. There are nature trails around the Light House if you have those interests. We offer early drop off/beach gear pick up after 10am. CAPACITY: Needs to be equivalent to 5 adults; appropriate variations of adults/children/infants will be accepted. Extra person fees of $40/person/day may apply for any undeclared guest OR if occupancy is more equivalent to 6 or more adults due to overcrowding for the space. Can sleep 7, 2 on queen bed, 2 on full bed; the remaining 3 sleeping spaces (2 on sofa sleeper, 1 on rollaway bed) are more appropriate for teenagers or small adults. Your limit is the number of people you declare to discourage last-minute add-ons and to avoid overcrowding, thus it is important to declare any additional guests before you arrive. RENTAL DURATION: The cottage may be rented for a minimum of 2 days up to 13 days; exceptions for longer stays might be accepted for repeat customers or based on great reviews. BEACH GEAR: Inside the Storage Shed: A cart, six (6) beach chairs, two (2) umbrellas/anchors, a 16-foot wind/shade beach fence, various sizes soft and hard-shelled coolers, round beach blanket (provided year-round), 5 beach towels (provided in warmer weather), 2 young and 2 older children's sizes of boogie boards (adults could use the larger ones), a non-regulation flotation jacket for 2-3yr-olds, a blow-up infant flotation tube, sand toys, and yard toys. TV's & INTERNET: Three (3) Roku TVs with 400 mbps WiFi available streaming at an average of 335mbps, and an ethernet connection cable in the top chest drawer in the middle bedroom. There is a Hulu no-ads subscription provided on the Hulu App, already logged in. For the Live TV Guide App (Roku) there is a printed Roku TV Topical Directory by subject matter (crime, home improvement, romance movies, etc.) in the tray on the living room ottoman to aide in watching your favorite types of shows (chanels change frequently but channel ranges are consistent). The Roku App has great shortcut categories and you can search for what you want; you could look up the old show "Bewitched" and watch every season from the 1st show. ASK FOR MORE: Do not hesitate to ask to exchange your bedding or towels for clean ones for any reason. BATHROOM: Bathroom with handicap-accessible tub/shower with a fixed shower head and a hand-held shower wand. A slip-proof bathtub mat and extra suction grip safety handle are under the bathroom sink. An extra holder for the hand-held shower wand and a handicap Shower Chair are available on request. No waiting for showers, hot water is on demand (not a tank). Bathroom has a vanity, stool, hair dryer, light, mirrors, full-size mirror, sanitized towels / hand towels / wash cloths in clear storage containers under the bathroom sink. All used towels/hand towels/washcloths are washed for over 1 hour with sanitizer. Personal items, bath wash / bar soaps / shampoos / conditioners and a nice assortment of personal care items for “things forgotten” such as clippers, nail files, Advil, first aid items, deodorants, toothbrushes, mouth wash, razors, hair spray, baby wash, and feminine products are accessible at no charge. A hamper for towels and versatile clothes drying rack is in the bathroom. GENERAL SETUP INFO: 3 Roku Smart TVs with Hulu (no ads); Chair, full-size Sleeper Sofa, Corner Basket Table contains a bagged / sanitized comforter for the sofa's sleeper; Ottoman with Lift-Top Table with games inside (Aggravation, Farkle, Guess Who, Parchese, Risk, Sorry, Star Wars Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Uno, Upwords, Yatzi, Playing Cards, and a fun cup of big dice); Island with two (2) Stools, Bar with two (2) Stools, Patio Table with four (4) Chairs (extra chairs provided as needed); pail of sand on patio for smoking. The bedroom Desk Chair, bathroom Vanity Stool, and living room and bedroom Ottomans can be used in the great room for extra seating. NOTE: A foldable stool is beside the refrigerator, and a wooden stool is beside the queen bed--these items could be used as seating for young children at the ottoman for games or eating. STORAGE / TABLES / CHARGERS: A Storage Chest is in each bedroom and a large folding/portable Table is in each bedroom for multipurpose use (luggage stand / bedside table / portable desk / snack table / miscellaneous). The middle bedroom has a completely collapsible Desk (lift the top off and the frame will fold flat against the wall) to make room for the Rollaway Bed. USB Chargers are in each bedroom and in the kitchen, and four (4) types of phone/tablet USB Cables ans an Ethernet Cable to connect directly to the internet modem are in the Storage Chest’s top drawer in the middle bedroom (please leave them here for other guests to use). CLOSETS: Clothes hampers (with removable liners so you can grab and go with your used clothing)--NO WASHER/DRYER, hangers, bagged/sanitized blankets and extra pillows. An iron with distilled water and an ironing board are in the middle bedroom closet along with a rollaway bed. The front bedroom closet also contains a vacuum. INSPECTIONS / LICENSES: Mercantile License and Certificate of Fire Department Inspection are posted to the left of the kitchen sink above the fire extinguisher. Fire Inspections include obtaining certification of gas furnace maintenance/inspection, new or recertified fire extinguishers, and proof of operable smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Lower Township requires a Mercantile License which requires proof of liability insurance. OUR NEIGHBORHOOD: Rural neighborhood. Double-wide driveway. A 15-mile bike/walking path is within walking distance, and it travels all the way to the botanical Cape May County Zoo (free/donations graciously accepted). Southward it ends at Sandman Boulevard (the road that leads to the Cape May/Delaware Ferry). Consider downloading a Trail Link App and search for "Cold Spring" or "Lower Township" or "Middle Township" with "Bike Path". Located in Erma (Cape May zip code) 4.5 miles north of Cape May's beach, north of the canal that isolates Cape May as an island. We are 11 miles south of the Cape May County Zoo, and 6.5 miles west of the Wildwood Board Walk and beaches. We are very near an access point to the 15-mile-long Cold Spring Bike Path that spans from the Cape May County Zoo to Sandman Boulevard (the road that connects to the Cape May/Lewes Ferry). Biking into Cape May from here is not recommended during the summer due to narrow roads and heavy traffic, especially if attempting with children. Avid bikers as "couples" could do it, but with great caution where the road narrows in West Cape May. Two (2) parking spaces are available on our property directly in front of the Cottage you rented on the right-hand side of our double-wide driveway; a 3rd car could be accommodated in a less mobile area on the property. The road curves very slightly and can be hazardous when departing the property. We advise watching for bikers on the shoulder of the road when departing, and for cars that may inappropriately try to pass on the shoulder or across the double line, and we advise backing out onto the shoulder of the road before entering the highway and leaving the property. Front Side of Tub 16" high Shower Chair 16-1/2" - adjustable Moveable Holder for the Shower Hand Wand has a flip-up/down lever to release or provide suction on the back with a rubber gripper; moisten with water behind the rubber base when repositioning. Extra Portable Handrail under the sink with an Anti-Slip Mat. The Portable Handrail has rubber grippers on the bottom side and flip-up/down levers to release or secure it to the tub surface; moisten with water on the rubber grippers to stablize it. The Shower Chair is not stored inside the cottage; it will be sanitized and placed in the tub for you upon request. The kitchen island is movable for convenience. The desk in the middle bedroom can be collapsed flat against the wall by removing the top and folding the frame. Cape May Beach has FREE beach wheelchairs that only need to be signed for.
