Places like this have become a rarity in the islands, this charming, old Hawaiian house sits on a bluff overlooking the beach and predates a time before resorts and generic condo’s became the norm. The space This is the original Charley Young Beach house. The property has been in the family for generations and is situated at the entrance to one of the best beach parks on Maui, which is named after our grandfather, Charley Young, who came to Hawai'i in 1932 as a military reporter to cover the infamous Massie Trial. Settling on Maui, he purchased this spectacular oceanfront parcel and built a house for himself and his wife, Betty, and became a well known public figure and reporter for the Maui News and Honolulu Star-Bulletin in the 1940’s and 50’s. The attached guest cottage is a weathered, wood-frame structure and the interior is light and sassy with fresh white paint and wood floors throughout, a dining area that seats 6, and 2 more seats at the kitchen table. The master bedroom has a King sized bed, the second bedroom has 2 twin beds, and a sleeper couch in the living room all with an ensemble of cool, crisp Hotel Collection linens. The bathroom is fully stocked with bath and beach towels. The cottage is tucked away behind the main house so there's no ocean views from inside but the place is indeed oceanfront, you just need to walk out your front door into the spacious front yard and beach below, it’s all yours to enjoy. Amenities include WI-FI, air-conditioning in the bedrooms, 4 beach chairs, 2 umbrella’s and 10-quart cooler.
