We have a full ocean view from the living room and lanai. The couch on the lanai folds out into a bed, so some nights we suggest star gazing with a glass of wine. We have binoculars handy, but during the whale season you wont need them to see the amazing humpbacks playing in the warm Maui surf. A walk along the quiet beach often finds turtle (or Honu) sunning lazily. The apartment has a old Hawaii vibe with more traditional fabrics and furnishings mixed with fast WiFi and new appliances. You will love the full ocean front view from the lanai - we eat most of our meals there. We have new kitchen just completely remodeled for you to enjoy. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked. There is a new washer and dryer in the unit. Maalaea gets the famous trade winds in the afternoon. It can be windy at times. We have two brand new air conditioning units, and the WiFi is fast as can be. We have beach gear, a cooler, and fluffy beach towels. Just pack your swimsuits. We are on the coast and in the heart of Maui so it is the perfect spot to explore the whole island. We are about a 5 min walk to one of the longest beaches in Maui. We are about 12 mins from the airport, 15 mins to the popular tourist spots of Kihei and Wailea. We are also only about 25 mins from the historic town of Lahaina or the beginning of the world famous Road to Hana - which is still at least a whole day trip. Close to home you will love the quiet local vibe of Maalaea. It is home to Maui's port so if you love fishing or sailing you can walk to the harbor. We have the world class Maui Ocean Center - more than just and aquarium a cultural center, now featuring a 3-D movie about Maui's whales. There are many great restaurants and a small market all in walking distance. We love it here and can't wait to share all of the magical things about Maui. We highly recommend that you rent a car it is the best way to explore. We are close to bus lines as well. We love that it is a walk-able neighborhood.
