You can park right up to gate of this slightly hidden cute 2 bedroom cottage in the heart of Hilo and walking distance to everything, yet with a quiet neighborhood feel. The front porch is delightfully inviting with nice sitting area with beach stuff available. Feels safe and secure. Inside you are greeted with modern simple clean style that is elegant in Blue & Green motif. Bathroom and Kitchen well equipped and grocery & McDonald’s only 1/2 block away! About 20 places to eat within 1 kilometer The space Location, location, location! Is the sounding call in real estate and this is a great one. 3.5 miles to airport means less than 10 minutes ride. All the things in Hilo town are walking distance. A half block to McDonald’s and Grocery store with Poke’ and fried chicken & anything you need to cook your customized meals. Little further gets you to Ocean Sushi, Mexican, Thai, Pineapples. From the kitchen window you can see the Famous Hilo Farmers Market, with all the fresh island fruits, a few blocks away. There is a tennis court and Lincoln park (for little ones) around the block. The house itself is cute, immaculately renovated and clean, smartly furnished, stylish and tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, well stocked with plush fresh linens, shampoos and soap. Shower is strong and hot, and full tub allows soaking bath. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking including new range, coffee maker, toaster, griddle, crockpot, rice cooker, etc... There is even a washer and dryer downstairs. Could just Uber your stay if want although I generally recommend getting a car for Big Island. Walk down to Kapoho Kine Adventures to go on some exploration or Ziplining tour. Many shops to explore by the bay front and there is now a Bikibike station by the Bandstand and can ride bike to Coconut island on the new path. The place is almost a hundred years old yet everything looks brand new. This was the Pastors house for what was once the Korean Christian Church next door, which is where me and my family now live. So I’m close by if ever need something. We love to travel and know what we like and appreciate, and we make sure our guests have what they need for a nice comfortable experience. Guest access You have the entire 2 bedroom cottage to yourself. On the back out the kitchen there are stairs going to washer and dryer under the house. There is small backyard with lemon, avocado and orange tree sometimes in season but watch out for spider webs. With Hilo bay front and Parks and beaches nearby we rather go play there. Other things to note Great space and a great town and a great deal. However when walking around downtown, like any Urban area one should be alert and cautious of “street people”. Overall the County really cleaned up the area over the last year so very few. Generally Hilo is a very safe and friendly place. Be respectful and friendly, and smart to not wander around too late. It’s pretty quiet at night by 7, except for the Coqui frogs starting their serenade. About once a month we might hear people arguing and shouting the next block down or even passing by. We are close to the fire station so anytime they respond to emergencies, most commonly car accidents, you can hear the sirens going off for about a minute. Happens about 2 times day average on weekdays and pretty quiet weekends. Other Sirens you might hear is for the emergency alert system conducted Monthly on first working day at 11:45 am. If we hear these siren any other time check the news or radio, and most common is Tsunami warning. Even if we have a Tsunami warning there is no need to evacuate from here as we are out of the designated evacuation zone so it is safe to remain in place in spite this potential.
