Villa Flora is a unique 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom Des Moines experience with an equal focus on the comforts of home as well as a garden and campfire outdoor experience 3-seasons each year. Sleeps 8 comfortably with a w/d and oversized kitchen. Easy parking in private driveway. Large front yard for kid play. Our fully remodeled home is close to downtown, the Botanical Center, Jordan Creek, and the state fair grounds. You'll find our home is generally "15 minutes from everywhere." The space While exploring the area, enjoy all the best this Top 10 U.S. city has to offer. If you need some help, we'll leave you our favorites in "the binder." The house features 4 bedrooms - 3 with queen beds and 1 with two twin beds. All feature luxury 14" CertaPUR-US certified mattresses with Sertapedic pillows. We travel extensively and know how important great beds after a long day of travel and work. Our Villa features a full kitchen with the gear you'll need to cook and plenty of space for food prep. When in season, if you love to eat what you grow, feel free to wander the garden and pick what you and your fellow wanderers would like to eat. Of course what can be picked depends on the season. However, you'll find a variety of heirloom tomatoes, mixed greens, onions and shallots, peas and beans, bok choi, several types of berries, rhubarb and asparagus. You'll also find a dozen different herbs on the property. Want to embrace your inner foodie? Head down to the Des Moines Cheese shop to pick up the area's best mozzarella, and add it to freshly picked basil and tomatoes. Dash some balsamic vinegar and enjoy a fresh caprese salad. If picking your food isn't your calling, when in season you'll at least want to head out to the raised beds of flowers to pick a vase full for your stay. We will have a healthy stack of hardwood ready for the back yard fire pit, so move some chairs around the pit and settle in. Go grab supplies for s'mores or hot dogs - I have the steel cooking sticks. Or just take in the morning and evening wildlife sounds on the lower patio - it's hard to believe we're in the middle of the city sometimes. The upper deck is also a great place to gather and boasts a Weber gas grill for all of your grilling needs. Need a little inside time? Brew some tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and relax on the comfy furniture in the living room with a good book from the home's vast library. Add some tunes from the vinyl collection on the homes vintage hifi turntable system and you may not want to leave the recliner. Or... head downstairs. Downstairs is our hangout lounge - featuring a natural wood fireplace, Bluetooth sound, television and air hockey table. You may not leave this part of the house. The home has SMART TVs upstairs and downstairs in the living areas and you'll be able to watch TV with your log-in accounts, whether Hulu, Netflix, Youtube TV or the dozens others supported by these modern TVs. The neighborhood is a very safe neighborhood, and the home is great for couples, business travelers, families, and small groups. Guest access Our guests have access to the entire home, including the washer and dryer downstairs in the storage room. The garage will be locked and is not accessible by guests. Other things to note Please follow the property's rules: If you burn in the fire pit please use the hose to douse it before ending your fire session. No fires left ignited. Only use the wood you burn and only pick the vegetables you'll eat. Please clean all dirty dishes by hand or in the dishwasher and put all of the sheets and towels in the laundry room before leaving. We appreciate it!
