The Okra Inn is a Bed and Breakfast located in a historic camelback home in the lively Mid City area. The space The Inn is a large camelback double which has recently been expanded and renovated into a licensed bed & breakfast. During the renovation we took great care to keep the distinctively New Orleanian character of the home and prevent it from being another bland, forgettable rental space. The house features 12-foot ceilings, original hardwood floors, beautiful molding, and a jazzy blend of colors. Upstairs are six guest bedrooms. Downstairs is a spacious living room, dining room, and stocked kitchen, as well as another half bathroom. The rear of the building holds off-street parking, as well as a breezy back porch with porch swing overlooking a huge back yard. Pretty much everyone who stays with us says they think the space is amazing; come see why! During your stay Please note that while we are considered a Bed & Breakfast for licensing purposes, we do not provide prepared breakfast for guests at this time. We live in part of the house; we are available when needed and you may see us in and out of the shared spaces. But we generally give guests their own space, and would ask before entering your room except in emergencies. Other things to note RESPECTING NEIGHBORS AND OTHER GUESTS We do feel strongly about being respectful of neighbors and of course other guests staying at the Inn. We have common-sense rules in place limiting noise after certain hours, inside and out. Please ask for more details if you believe this could be an issue for your stay. HOUSE RULES Smoking is not allowed in the house but is allowed on front and back porches. Firearms are strictly prohibited. ABOUT US Lindsay started The Okra Inn in 2013, and today it's a family owned and run business with her husband Adam, Penny their four year old, David their one year old, and Ringo the dog.
