Beautiful Bywater Shotgun w/ Bikes!
Great home base to explore the city! In the heart of the Bywater/St.Claude neighborhood, we're a short walk to most Bywater bars & restaurants, a 5 min drive or 10 min bike ride down to the French Quarter. The apartment is an artsy one bedroom shotgun with hardwood floors, 12 ft ceilings, old school pocket doors, and lots of sunlight! There's a big backyard and porch to hang out on, and a well stocked kitchen with an antique gas stove. Free WIFI and washer & dryer on site. LGBTQ friendly The house has memory foam queen beds in both bedrooms and a pull out sectional sleeper couch in the living room. There are doors between each room, but note, the house is a traditional shotgun, so folks in the front of the house must walk through both bedrooms to reach the bathroom and kitchen at the back of the house. Licence # 18STR-18135 There are 4 guest bikes to borrow (an eclectic but working mix of cruisers and road bikes). It's the very best way to get around the city! Guests are welcome to make themselves at home and use the front porch as well as the back patio. The backyard and laundry are shared spaces so you may see us coming or going and tending to the garden. I'm close by and available anytime by phone or text for any questions you have about the house, bikes, or what to see and do in New Orleans. If I'm not around when you get in, my brother Morgan can answer any questions. We're a block in on the lake side (north side) of St. Claude Ave. The neighborhood is super diverse, a mix of working class families and artists. The house is on a quiet street but a short walk to Vaughn's, BJ's or Bacchanal for live music almost every night of the week. Delicious restaurants like The Joint, Pizza Delicious or Elizabeth's are also all within walking distance. We're right around the corner from the St. Claude Arts District, Solo Espresso, and the Alvar Library, and only six blocks to Crescent Park- a brand new park the runs along the Mississippi River through the length of the Bywater. Transportation is easy- the house is a block away from the St. Claude bus line, which connects to the streetcar lines, and airport shuttles downtown. There's also street parking on the river side of my house. A cab ride from the French Quarter is around $12 with tip. New Orleans is a social city. In my neighborhood you say, "How you doing," or "Good afternoon/Good night" to almost everyone you pass on the street. Adopt the practice, say hello to people and see the city like a local.
