Sun Canyon Winter Cabin

Sun River Canyon, where the cabin is located, is an eastern gateway to the vast Lewis and Clark Forest and the unique Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. The high rock walls rise up abruptly in majestic grandeur to welcome those who venture into the last of the true mountain wilderness areas. There is plenty of snow during the winter so it is also an attraction for snowshoeing, sledding, and cross-country skiing. It's a great place for a quiet getaway or winter adventure. The space The cabin is small and quaint, but the mountains and the area around it are beautiful. The bathroom/bath-house will be across the yard, separate from the cabin. During the summer and fall seasons, we run an outfitting business and a full-service Lodge. The winter months allow us to pause with our regular business and provide a more intimate and quiet experience for those seeking solitude and winter recreation. This will not be a high traffic area as it is 20 miles west of Augusta, MT. Gravel roads require good tires and often in the winter, all wheel/four wheel drive vehicles. There is not service here at the Lodge or anywhere near the Lodge. Please pack accordingly and be prepared for your excursion. This stay will allow for solitude, stunning scenery and wildlife viewing. Guest access The cabin will be available as well as the bath-house. THE LODGE IS NOT OPEN DURING THE WINTER MONTHS!
