Nestled within the gorgeous, bohemian Bywater, "St Joan" is the cozy arts and crafts winter home of Boston playwright Ryan Landry. An authentic New Orleans experience within a safe, friendly neighborhood just minutes from the French Quarter! License # 19STR-23255 ST. JOAN - a spacious single family home with sweet Southern soul and a gentle, loving spirit. Including a quaint front porch w/ swing, a private back porch with rocker, ceiling fan and breakfast garden. She has 2 gorgeously appointed bedrooms, a 1930's inspired kitchen with coffee maker, a lovely 1940's dining room as well as a vintage Asian themed front room. Included with the rental are two bicycles, easy street parking and all the good taste, casual elegance and "southern comfort" you could ask for! Guests have access to the whole residence and yard. The washer and dryer is located in the back house. No guests sleeping in the upstairs of the back house (art studio.) One of us will greet you when you arrive with a tour and a few sets of keys. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have or text me if your stumped on a place to eat. The Bywater is an amazing neighborhood! Not only are you a stones throw from the world famous "Vaughn's", you are also a short 5 minute drive to the French Quarter! But no need for that EVERY night as there are many great places to eat and see music right here in the Bywater! There are funky dive bars aplenty as well as some of the best restaurants in New Orleans. Just check out the guide book for details! You will want to take a taxi from the airport. The rental includes 2 bikes. (PLEASE return the keys to the locks!) United Cab is a great choice (airport wise) and can also be hailed from Charters St on Friday and Saturday nights if you plan to ride into the Quarter or simply call for one to be sent. We now have Uber in New Orleans but there prices can be 3 times that of local cabs fares during holidays or festivals, and Uber does not go to and from the airport. It is a pleasant 20 minute walk to the French quarter in good weather. You can walk through the neighborhood or stroll (or bike) along the Mississippi River through BEAUTIFUL Crescent Park. (designed by the same folks that created New York City's "High Line"!) All in all you will be located in a truly sought after, well loved and authentic Old New Orleans neighborhood. There are a few things to note. The world famous music bars B.J.'s, Vaughn's and Bacchanal are all just a block or two away! This is major as you don't need to drive at all! Plus, The Joint (the very best bar-b-que around) is only 2 blocks away! The French Quarter is only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride through Crescent Park! The sleeping arrangements include 1 Queen sized bed, 1 Full sized bed and one Queen sized pull out couch. The home does back closely to a train crossing. A train passes a few times a week. However the train tracks surround the whole Bywater Neighborhood. Also there are chickens that live in the yard next door but don't worry, there is no rooster. Just sweet clucking once in a while. That's about it! Other than that just sit back, relax and fall in love with St. Joan!
