During the summer, you'd have the entire space to yourself. The space This is a wonderful space for travelers interested in short or long-term rentals in a pretty, quiet neighborhood convenient to Cambridge and Boston by public transportation. My place is a 6-room unit on the first floor of a 2-family house built in the 1920's. Along with your bedroom you are free to enjoy all the rooms, including the kitchen, living room, dining room, den, back porch, and fitness room. The space is tastefully furnished and decorated with lots of wood furniture and African art. It has hardwood floors, a beamed living room ceiling, a fireplace, and an updated kitchen. The house is on a quiet, tree-lined street with many friendly neighbors. It’s a 5-minute walk from public transportation, 2-3 blocks from two local parks, one which has newly-renovated tennis courts. It’s a 10 minute walk from the Fresh Pond Reservoir (great for walking around!) and a public golf course. There's also plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and shopping within a 5-10 minute walk. From Sept to May, I would be sharing the space with you in my second bedroom. You would sleep in the master bedroom, which accommodates two guests in a king bed (with 3" Tempur Pedic mattress topper), two side tables, a chair, closet, and a 50-inch smart TV with cable. We would share the bathroom, although I defer to guests on the timing of showers. For guests requiring more than one bedroom, I can rent out both rooms for double the price of this listing. During June, July and August, you would have the entire place to yourself, accommodating up to four people. The second bedroom has a single bed but can sleep two as it's a trundle system with another bed which slides underneath it. This room also has a bureau, desk, side table, lounge chair and walk-in closet. The house is located near the Cambridge and Watertown lines in the Harvard Lawn area of Belmont, which is considered the most desirable 2-family neighborhood in town. Parking in my driveway and garage can accommodate up to three cars. The house is a 5-minute walk from the MBTA #73 bus line. The bus ride takes 10 minutes to get to Harvard Square in Cambridge, and then it’s a 15 minute subway ride into Boston. Or you can park up to two cars in my driveway and drive into Cambridge and downtown Boston within 10-15 minutes. The bathroom has a tub/shower, sink and a bidet-toilet. The kitchen has a table which seats three, large refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, and coffee maker. It is equipped with everything you will need for cooking! The living room has seating for five with a 3-seat couch and two chairs, a and a 55-inch smart TV with cable, stereo cabinet, and Carrom table game. The dining room is filled with antique furniture: a table which sits four, a wine cabinet and a large side table. The den has a fireplace, 2-seat couch, and a large desk. The back porch has a table with seating for four, two additional chairs, and a barbecue. It overlooks a fenced yard with pretty shrubs. In the basement is a fitness room with a StairMaster, stationary bike, multi-weight station, free weights, bench, arm curling station and a 36-inch smart TV with cable. There is also a washer and dryer in the basement. I have a cat. While I keep the house well-vacuumed, this may not be the space for you if you're allergic. Please note that this property is not suitable for young groups, parties, or gatherings. You will find my home attractive, clean, functional, and well-kept up. I welcome you to stay here! Guest access For initial arrival, I will either greet you and let you in or hide a key for you to unlock the house. You will have access to the entire home and outdoor spaces such as the back porch. During your stay I am available to engage with you and answer all questions you may have. I'm knowledgeable about the area and can advise on places to eat, things to do in the area, and how to get around by car or public transportation. I'm also happy to give you as much space as you need and to limit our interaction.
