We are in the oldest neighborhood in Billings, the South Side. For the past couple decades this side of town has been getting a long-overdue face-lift, one house at a time. This trend has been gaining increasing momentum in the last few years, following the pattern of many other urban areas: old and formerly unwanted but centrally located properties experience a resurgence in value when they're snapped up by savvy investors with work ethic and vision. Four blocks to the west of us is a spacious, well-maintained city park with a swimming pool and new playground. This park is used to host concerts and other events throughout the summer. Five blocks to the north is an awesome skate park, and just one block beyond that is a casual, but very stylish, restaurant and coffee shop, The Fieldhouse and The Annex. Continue one block more in the same direction and you're in the heart of downtown Billings, voted "best town" by Outside magazine. Sushi bars, microbreweries, steak houses, gift boutiques, conference venues, art galleries, and more. A few blocks to the east of our place is the Conoco oil refinery. It is quite the industrial sight and may be a turn-off for some. Once inside our home, this amazing infrastructural network is out of sight and out of mind, but (full-disclosure) it's still there. There is a public bus system that passes two blocks from our place hourly. If you happen to get sick in the days before your scheduled stay with us, we would appreciate it if you would consider canceling your reservation and booking a hotel instead. This request is due to what a costly inconvenience it can be when our little ones get under the weather. Strict NO SMOKING policy. If you need to smoke while at your place of accommodation, please book elsewhere.
