Description

Located on a lovely small lake, the upstairs suite has a panoramic view from the bedroom, a private spa-like bathroom, cotton linens, a comfy bed, A/C and a living room - it feels like an apartment. Quietly watch lake nature or boats going by, or choose to swim, kayak, or fish. Enjoy industrial history at Lowell's National Park, take a forest walk nearby, or drive 10 min. to Nashua for its many restaurants, a casino, or tax-free shopping. We are one hour from Boston. The space The guest suite is a self-contained space including a large living/dining room (but no kitchen!) plus a large bedroom , close to 1000 square feet total)! Access is through the front door (rarely used by ourselves) into a shared hallway. Front door code given to you to come and go as you please. Your second floor master is the only bedroom on this level, is private and quiet with it's own bath and thermostat and has a tranquil view of the lake. The adjacent living area contains a wide sofa (where a third, registered guest may sleep but it is not a pullout), Roku TV with some free channels and stream-ready, reading materials, games, fireplace, small table/chairs, microwave, mini-fridge and a (keurig) tea/coffeemaker, plus a corner nook writing desk good for using your i-pad or laptop (hopefully not for the w-word!) Outdoors we gladly share our backyard's large deck or the smaller one at the lake's edge. We encourage you to unplug, sit by the lake in the morning with your complimentary cup of coffee, listening to the birds singing or the ducks quacking before the boats rev up! Or how about kayaking while the sun's going down and those other boats are going away? Sunsets are great. Don't like rocks under your feet upon entering the lake? There's a small public beach area a 2-minute walk away with a sandy beach if you prefer. The lake is small, with mostly year-round residents and we're definitely not isolated or even 'in the country' as our neighbors are close by. Nashua, NH and Lowell, MA are 12 minutes away, as is the highway of Route 3. A few minute's walk away is a state forest, and within 1 to 7 miles there are golf courses, mini golf, walking and biking trails, a national park, theatre, indoor roller skating, farmstands and scores of restaurants, a casino, and don't forget tax-free NH shopping. Boston is an hour away, as are the borders of CT, RI, VT, and Maine, making us an ideal stop in your New England travels! Guest access Only registered guests are permitted on the premises - NO unregistered visitors please. Only 1 car allowed in driveway (2nd car may park on street). Guests enter through the front door (shared but seldom used by us) into our home's front hallway to access stairway to the suite. You do not pass through our own living quarters. Yours is the only bedroom on this level. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home on our two decks and outdoor grounds, shared with us. Kayaking, or fishing is allowed as well as swimming and although the water's bottom is rocky, the water is warm by mid-June. If preferred, very closeby (2 minute walk) is a sandy, small public beach which guests can walk to. We have various inflatables during the summertime for your use, as well as two well-used kayaks. The grounds have lovely pocket gardens and a generous view of the lake since we are located on a point. Please note we are not remotely situated, or in 'the country'; we have close-by neighbors in this residential area with the usual neighborhood sounds, and we are not childproofed inside or out. Other things to note We are not childproofed inside or out. With life vests (yours or ours) we are happy to lend you one or both of our kayaks. Floats, tubes, etc. are fine to bring and use in summertime. A light, cold breakfast will be provided as well as coffee or tea. Water is entirely drinkable. You'll need to bring your gear/bait if you plan to fish from the kayak or small deck. The brochure in the suite describes many things to see and do in the area, or see our guidebook through Airbnb. The brochure includes suggestions for travel in the New England area. This Airbnb listing has Massachusetts State taxes collected and paid to Massachusetts by Airbnb on our behalf as required by law
