Awaken to Sunrise over Haleakala & North Shore, listen to surf and local birds, and watch the ocean and harbor action- Surfers, Kiters, Sailboarders, Kanaha beach from the secluded back yard. Relax in the hot tub and sauna. Very Central, but you’ll want a car or Uber to get to most places- Wailuku town is 1 mile. Hosts live on-site for needed assistance, otherwise allow guests to enjoy their peace and solitude during the evenings after the day's adventures. Hale Anuhea Kai is a small, family owned retirement business featuring 2 private guest suites in a centralized, safe local neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of heavily touristed centers. This breezy, tranquil Ohana features elevated beachy charm and allows complete independence and privacy. We provide simple breakfast items to get you started including banana bread made from our own banana and coconut trees and local coffee. The Ohana features a large fully equipped Chef’s kitchen and triple sliders opening up into your own semi-private lanai with outdoor dining and lounge area. The large kitchen island offers expansive work or dining space, and there is also a pull out desk in the wall unit by the bed. There is a large Smart TV, updated super fast Internet for those working remotely. The entry garden has an outdoor shower, storage for beach supplies or boards, and the shared laundry area. Additional guests (beyond 2 primary) may be allowed with prior permission, assuming it is family members under 12 sleeping on twin pull-out for an additional fee. ( no additional fee for infants under 12 months) Our property features a large shared yard with an amazing ocean view, and grilling patio for your enjoyment. There are three units on property- each with their own private entrances, cooking areas, bathrooms, and outdoor dining. We enjoy watching distant views of planes arriving and landing, Kite/ Wing/ Sail/ SUP and surfers as well as the various ships arriving or departing the harbor. Residing with us on property are a friendly miniature Schnauzer named Bert who takes his greeting responsibilities seriously, and a shy black cat named Cinder who provides critter control, and our two chicks Jackie and Jilly. Fold-out loveseat/ toddler bed or floor mattress and pack-n-play are available with advance notice for up to 2 children under 12 traveling with parents. AC is rarely needed, but provided via Split or wall mount units. We are a legal, permitted accommodation through the state of Hawaii. Permit #BBWK2019/0004 Guest access Private parking spot for one car, private entrance, side garden and rear lanai. Backyard features a beautiful shared lawn and garden overlooking the ocean just 100 yards away. Back yard and Laundry area are shared. Grilling area available on request. Booked guests will receive full address, self-check-in instructions, house manual, and WiFi codes before check in. GPS is accurate. Other things to note Read House Manual completely. Please keep screens or doors into your unit from the back yard closed at all times to prevent doggie escapes or unauthorized gecko entries! The island also has plenty of bugs- please do not leave any food out and dispose of food waste to prevent ants and roaches. There is a dumpster for your trash by the guest driveway. Please separate recyclables and place in the blue recyclables bin. Pickups are on Monday and Thursday mornings- early! We have very few mosquitoes, but you may see some occasional flies. (That’s Maui) The feral chickens you may hear help keep the bug populations under control. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off beach equipment and bodies of sand! During much of the year we are on water restrictions so we ask guests to use towels and water resources conservatively. There is no towel service provided with this room. We provide one bath towel and one beach towel per guest. Additional towel service may be provided for additional cost. Please do not use towels or linens for removal of makeup or stains. Use makeup removal pads or makeup facecloth provided. Stains that are cannot be removed or damages beyond normal wear and tear, requiring replacement or repair will be charged to you. Guests may use the shared laundry for one personal load, but do not mix clothing with linens or towels. Please report any damages or repairs needed immediately so we can correct the problem. We supply filtered water for each room to reduce use of single use plastics. As of Jan 1 2018 the State of Hawaii requires all tourists pay a "Tourist Tax" which is the combined Transient Accommodations Tax plus General Excise Tax. This is already factored into your room fee.
